thanks a lot. Next time I'm there I'll try that and get something cut out.
I have a question about blender however, on the export tab is it possible to export as a .stl file? Because that's the filetype this laser cutter needs

Yes, you can export to STL files.
I had a try at making a hand ;

It was pretty hard, and you can't even close in on stuff that good, all you do is roll around the centre of the picture.

That is great news, thanks alot!

Would have made more sense to use Nitrogen, but it works regardless. I don't suppose most people would know the percentage composition of air on Earth anyway.
We inhale 78% Nitrogen
We exhale 78% Nitrogen
We don't use Nitrogen like at all.

I didn't say we did. I was simply stating that roughly 80% OF AIR is nitrogen.

I tried to recreate one of those awesome houses from morrowind, I've always loved their design: http://www.elderscrolls.com/images/art/mwpc/mwind_web76B.jpg

Is that big, glowing ball meant to be a chronosphere?
Someone make a video tutorial on basic head/face modelling with this style of 3d modeller.
Yes, you can export to STL files.
Thanks yo, that saves me about 10 mins of faffing around
Actually tried making a low poly basic coloured model. Note that I HAVE HAD NO FORMER EXPERIENCE IN BLENDER WHATSOEVER so the colour/optimization is pretty bad.

Another retard question : How do you colour stuff?
When I first opened it up I sat there holding the "draw" tool on the sphere and thought nothing was happening. Then I turned the camera.
It ended up turning into this thing.

I feel like this is how Spore should have worked.
I'm not going to learn anything in my psychology lecture today.
YES!!! I can import it into Blender :D

I think I did something wrong... :v:
One thing you guys should probably know. You can make your own materials to use in Sculptris. Create a round texture like this, save it as a PNG with a name like materialX.png (X being a number higher than 10) and stick that in the Sculptris data folder.
You can make cool shit like this:

Yep, made in Sculptris.
Here's the file for reference.

Have fun. :v:

I don't even know what this is.

This program is awesome.
I've been trying to make textures for days, from blank, solid colours, to actual, proper textures... they all come out looking really weird :( Like they're liquid metal or something like that.

It's very weird how they get textured on and I can't fully explain it, because I don't know how it works. :< Sorry.

Oh, okay :( Thanks anyway.
Oh, okay :( Thanks anyway.
You might want to try making them bigger. Something like 256x256 might work. Unless you were making them bigger than that, in which case I have no idea.
From what I've seen, it seems like it textures it by texturing x amount of polys, checking the area around them, and then texturing y amount of polys with a different area of the texture. Which, if your pattern is small or oddly shaped, would lead to your odd lines.

Took like ten minutes. This is fast once you get the hang of it.
I was using 512x512.
I was using 512x512.
Then I have absolutely no idea. Post your texture file.

Klaymen :D I love that shit man.
Then I have absolutely no idea. Post your texture file.
I deleted most of them now because they didn't work. I've kept one, though. Looks SEMI decent with bumpmapping... doesn't look decent as a texture itself, more as a lighting style:

I have a feeling that because the lines run up and down the 'sphere' as opposed to in a radial pattern or something that this might be responsible for some of the problems.
[editline]08:52PM[/editline]
Using your radial method I've been able to do this:

Still a bit basic, though. I'd prefer to be able to have a proper texture across it. I suppose if I want that I may have to export it to some other program and texture it there.
[editline]09:00PM[/editline]

Got that one, too. But... again. Still a little basic.
You can get some funny cel-shaded looks with it.
I've yet to figure out how to individually skin certain parts, but I have a feeling that's impossible to begin with, simply because of the way it actually textures the models.
