To lower the detail more efficiently/in a better way, see the OP. Jallen made a pretty cool tutorial for it.

First sculpture :3: I thought it turned out okay. Could have been better, it's supposed to be a shitty vampire haha.
I get an error saying "Failed to init extensions. New graphics drivers might help."
Can anyone help?

What graphics card do you have? Also, what drivers are installed?
Here's a cool idea. Choose the Flatten tool, point anywhere, and hold right-click.

Also, I knew that already...
Probably a stupid question, but I can't seem to rotate the object. I'm on my laptop, dell studio.
Whenever I pick the "rotate" option it just distorts my object.
^
To rotate the object you have to middle mouse click, you're on a laptop so I'm not sure if there's an alternative other than plugging in a usb mouse. The rotate tool in the tools menu is used to modify the object itself and not the view port.

Integrated card, and no drivers.
Integrated card, and no drivers.
Make sure you've downloaded the latest build, which is alpha 3.

was pissing about with a sphere, using the draw tool when I accidentall created something that looked slightly like a torso.
so I worked it a bit and got this pretty decent result.
never taken an anatomy class, i can't draw or 3d model, no idea how to make a human figure XD

Woo, found it.
Space+left mouse Rotate the view
Space+right mouse Pan the view
Shift+middle mouse Pan the view
Space+shift+left mouse Pan the view
For all you laptop users out there.
this makes me want a 3d printer so bad
Okay what the fuck
I am having trouble with the triangles. I have no idea what the OP is talking about.
Any help?
Zinayzen, guess you're a fan of this SomethingAwful thread, eh? http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3271762&userid=0&perpage=40&pagenumber=6
Looking at the stuff you've posted, I'm suddenly struck by a very strong sense of deja vu, like...like I've seen many of these things before.
You can make cool shit like this:

Yep, made in Sculptris.
Dude, make your own crap instead of pilfering other peoples' stuff.
That angel is an absolute amazement.
Thanks; I, for one, am really glad you like it, since I made it (Zinayzen did not). It was my first go with Sculptris which I shared originally at SomethingAwful.com and then at the official Sculptris forums (at http://drpetter.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=sculptris&action=display&thread=54&page=13 , second post down).
By the way, a clarification: that angel image does not show a comparison between Zbrush and Sculptris -- they're both the same sculpture within Sculptris, just two different screenshots using different materials.

I have. I have also redownloaded many, many times.

Because he totally claimed that he made it.
I love this 'form' of alien-type things.
No Mac version, I take it?
Dr. Petter has released the source of one of his applications, Musagi, in the hopes that someone will port it for him. I doubt he'd bother porting Sculptris himself, and it's not open-source.

You'll notice I was extremely careful with my wording.
mine looks like somthing from gostbusters
