It should be legal as long as you agree to it, or if you're in no condition, a specified friend/family member agrees to it.
Edit: I should specify: if you're in a condition you can't recover from and can't respond.
I don't approve assistane to suicide; I mean who should decide if the person who 'wants' to die actually should die or not?

Completely disagree with this, only the person should be able to decide, not family or friends.
In some cases, to keep the person alive is more of a crime than letting them die.
Technically you have the right to kill yourself
Actually, we don't. It's illegal to try and kill yourself in many places.
firing squad
Depends what you call it,
if you count rejecting treatment or life support when seriously ill, then thats understandible.
If you mean stuff like requesting a lethal injection without reason other then not wanting to live, then the person need help, not death.
Basically this.
lol Poll segregation?
Actually, we don't. It's illegal to try and kill yourself in many places.
And who's going to stop you? Most places like that are retarded.
It should be legal, but I believe I lawyer must be present during the entire process and it must be absolutely clear the individual is of sound mind to request assisted suicide.
Why does religion matter in this
It's fine. If they're a vegetable, I really think they'd be better off dead. It's different if they have a very decent chance of recovery.
No, it doesn't work. They still struggle with the urges for the rest of their lives.
Ex-Smokers struggle with urges for the rest of their lives but they don't do it.
Just because someone is attracted to children doesn't mean they're going to go around raping kids.
not religious, stupid idea
If the person is in pain and can make the decision by herself, then there's no oposition. If she can't make the decision(vegetative, dementia, etc...) then it gets a whole lot more complicated.
And who's going to stop you? Most places like that are retarded.
Not really; it should (not proven) reduce the amount of suicide somewhat. I personally find suicide the most horrible thing in the world. If you're paralyzed and won't be able to do anything your whole life then I can understand why you'd want to kill yourself; but I don't want suicide to go up in numbers, and that's what is gonna happen if we approve assisted suicide I think.
I would find it a horrid job to just kill another human being because, "I want to die :C" if anything people need to learn the three letters of suicide...

Gun, Cut, and Overdose.
This guy sounds experienced in suicide, i think you should listen to him.
If someone gave me a gun and told me to shoot them, I would first make them sign a contract of some sorts to prevent me from getting into trouble and then do it.
It should be legal as long as the person is tested for mental stability and is proven to not have any mental problems at all.
Voted legal because i was thinking about some old lady from over here that went to a suicide clinic in switzerland because she had no family anymore, and she didn't want to just wait for death.

This is what I disagree with, we should be helping people like this not killing them.
Nonreligious, don't know what to vote.
Sure if someone suffer from Aids. It's evil to just let him/her suffer to death.
I voted for being illegal, though.
+150 xp for assisting. :downs:

Holy crap, how does he swim?
Nonreligious and supportive. I think that people should have the right to decide if they want to live or not themselves.
and at the most basic level - they take up room.
I don't know if it's been said already, but that's not a valid argument at all.
If people want to die let them die, you have no right in prolonging someone elses suffering/existence if they no longer what to be around.
I personally think it depends on multiple factors, such as family, their decision, and the circumstance (As in why they want to be euthanized).

Although if all that stuff checks out I think it should be legal.

If I want to die and my family doesn't want me to die but wants me to keep suffering, I'd tell them to piss off.
There is no sense in living if all you are going to do is be in a hospital bed in agony.
