Any Ensiferum or LAmb of God song.
I like metal a lot too but... "songs that just make you feel great" doesn't describe any metal I know. Metal just isn't feel good music. I have no idea what you guys are talking about.

Metal really makes me feel good, especially if it's incredibly fast paced and energetic, bands like Ensiferum for example. Bands like Insomnium, the slower paced, more depressive style are really great for chilling. I use black metal for reflecting. Bands like Burzum and Summoning, the more atmospheric ones. And things like Darkthrone as well, which are pretty aggressive but still very good for a reflective feel. And things like Bloodbath and Cannibal Corpse are just fucking awesome for rocking out.
Like your new avvy mikey
As do I. Opeth are awesome :frogc00l:

Lisa Hannigan - I Don't Know For some reason, this song just gives you a good feeling. Besides the fact that she's an amazing singer.
Rush - Natural Science There's so much energy in this song. Every part of it kicks ass (maybe with the exception of 5:29 and the second guitar solo). My mind is blown every time I listen to it. Bonus: see how many ways you can count 7:56-8:09. Van der Graaf Generator - Childlike Faith In Childhood's End Maybe not the most accessible song, but if you make your ear work, the payoff's nice. The groove and the melody are very solid throughout, but then there's this minimalist countermelody that comes in at one point, and moments of melancholy that somehow reflect the main theme without having a similarity between them. I like to get lost in this one and let the music take me on an emotional journey. Henry Cow's (sort of) written material, in my opinion, far outshines their (wholey) improvised work. I've never heard an organ sound so sickly and menacing as it does in this tune. The chromatic harmony, augmented chords, quartal textures, the weird counterpoint, the rock instruments alongside woodwinds and violin, and Dagmar's eerie voice, all contribute to the atmosphere of juxtaposition between crudity and sophistication that permeates their music. It's not at all a happy song, but I feel a rush when I hear it. I used to listen to the entire thing before I took finals in my piano classes.

For me it would have to be Dreaming Light by Anathema And .3 by Porcupine Tree, no videos for some reason, but those who have heard it will know why it gives me shivers every time I hear it

Sergei Rachmaninoff is very good as well, I love the "A Window In Time" collection of his works, all of the performances are so full of emotion. I'm going to take piano lessons and practice piano playing until I can play Prelude in C-Sharp Minor, Op. 3, No. 2 perfectly.
Xanadu by Rush, oh man... That and anything of Number of the Beast or Led Zeppelin 3.
Dream Theater - Octavarium or anything by Joe Satriani
