that game haunts my dreams
It had a pretty nasty atmosphere to it And was also shit hard when I was younger

some more texture painting stuff [editline]13th November 2012[/editline]
dicked about on udk some more: i don't really intend to learn much from this stuff other than some very basic knowledge of how building in the engine works as i intend to be an illustrator/concept artist anyways. it makes me look like i'm doing something in the lessons though
That ship on the second one looks so...borderland-ish :\
i guess. i wouldnt know. it's all premade assets anyways
was told to make something to practise using normal maps and ao maps so mocked out a quick spitfire cockpit panel [t]http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-If51In7xC1Q/UKZRN-WVLjI/AAAAAAAABCU/baYYgbJ14u8/s1600/renderwip.png[/t] got bored with the texturing though. i learnt what i needed to learn
did some pose studies [t]http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-a-Mfvwwqs6A/UKvVaUVvfbI/AAAAAAAABCw/FXzEJ0yIQKY/s1600/poses.jpg[/t] did a painting for my ma's birthday because she has always been obsessed with this guy@ [t]http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/324/c/6/seagulls_and_karate_by_chestymcgee-d5ll53z.jpg[/t] ref was gridded out
I don't know anyone else who grids, aren't photostudies easy enough as it is? I don't think you can apply the same excuse about accuracy to that guy as a ferrari or an airplane either :v: [editline]21st November 2012[/editline] Also I hate that I recognise that Lee fucker in everybodies' figure studies
i had like 2 hours to do a painting for my mum's birthday i cba halving that time drawing the guy perfectly. i didn't want to learn anything
heads are hard. i'm quite happy with the happy guy in the hat though
morning speed-paint ~1hr. need to get faster. man-made stuff is hard
some modelling kinda happy with it just because it's not horribly broken at all and i finally feel somewhat comfortable with max, or at least more so than last year when i never knew what was happening modelling isn't my thing though. excited to paint the textures but dreading unwrapping it
wip on an environment thing
I think the table shouldn't be slanted downwards, it gives it a weird effect because the room and fireplace are both horizontal and then the table just looks like its slanted towards the wall. Also the shadow on the table seems a bit random, it doesn't seem to come from anywhere. Also the light seems to be hitting the table in a straight line and them stopping and widening when it falls on the floor beyond the table, which looks odd. It should be widening along the length of the entire room, not just jump at the end. Awesome atmosphere and rendering otherwise.
yes you're right there's some perspective issues and the shadows have been bugging me - you're post has really helped with that. thanks mate [editline]28th November 2012[/editline] oh wait the shadow on the table is where i drew an outline of a bloke but i haven't rendered him in yet. the shadows after the table need to be sorted though
progress [editline]28th November 2012[/editline] physics defying chain on the closest chandelier is annoying me so much
It's really cozy, I like it a lot. May be because I'm personally a bit crazy about the warm colours. What's wierd here is that the duct above the fireplace is not symmetrical relative to the center.
