Do you mean something like a webcam, or a camera you can walk around with handheld?
Something I can use anywhere.

Nothing fantastic, but it'll do just fine for vlogs and home movies. If you're really strapped for money, you can go the Sony Bloggie route, but they're not as comfortable to hold and you can expect some really shaky movement out of them.
Isn't the sony bloggie total shit according to reviewers
I got a Canon T80 with a AC 35-70mm lens and it's original neverready case.
Too bad the camera does not work... :suicide:
I just bought a Nikon 35mm f/1.8, and it's my first lens after getting a nifty fifty, I hope it'll be useful to me. I always felt the 50mm was about to tight to work with sometimes.
That's exactly how I felt about the fifty. My 35mm should be here on Monday.

I bought mine from a local shop to try and support a local business and when I went in I found out it was cheaper there than the national chain stores, plus they had for 30 bucks off, plus they included a free lens hood and carrying case. SCORE
Sometimes I wish I didn't have a Pentax K-x
Finding cheap lenses is near impossible.

you can get old K-mount pentax lenses for it can't you?
Seeing as you guys really dig old school cameras, my Minolta 7000 won't turn on anymore. When I first turned it on today the display was just blinking for a while so I figured the batterys were getting empty. I put in new ones but now the camera won't do anything at all. I already tried different batterys but it just stays off. :\
Also, I only got one lens for it but I really like the lens (Sigma 28-200mm), should I get a Minolta to EF/EF-S Converter?
Can anyone find a guide on how to put the blades back together on a Pentacon Auto 50mm?
I can't figuire it out.

pretty sure you put them underlapping each other. like each one goes under one, and has one going underneath it

Yes but they are still pricey like the 30mm and such
What are some good tripods?
my old one finally broke (it was from the 1940s), and I need a new one
I prefer ballhead ones, but I don't really mind other kinds
Can anyone suggest any cheap, good alternatives to Pocket Wizards. There's loads of wireless flash shoes on Amazon but I don't know which one is the best to go for.
Help.
Thanks.
I dont own this Model, but i know someone who does, and its a brilliant little thing. Anything by Manfrotto is good.

You can change the heads too.
Buy the 7dayshop Pro tripod, It can hold a Zenit Securely (and its pretty damn cheap) and its amazing quality for the price

well yeah, 30mm is a difficult focal length because it has to be retrofocus. not many systems have a good cheap 30mm or 35mm (nikon and sony are the only name brands iirc). the best you could do would be getting an m42 to k mount adapter, and getting one of these
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=m42+35mm&_sacat=See-All-Categories
most of the time 35mm lenses are expensive because they are full frame, retrofocus, and have become in demand due to the APS-C sized sensor. I'd recommend Takumar lenses if you decide to go this route, but the 35mm f2 is a bit pricier than the 35mm f3.5, but the latter is not fast in the slightest.
I'm also looking for a decent, but cheap tripod; mine just broke too. :v: I would prefer to keep it between $10-$50. I don't use a tripod often, so I prefer something that is stable and efficient.

Thanks man! I sorta forgot about the adapter haha. These are alot cheaper for the most part.
you're welcome dude! glad to be able to help. but yeah m42 was pentax's old mount, so the lenses should work pretty well on the k mount.
Beginner question time, starting with a small story.
So far I've just been making sure my photos are in focus and getting the proper amount of light(told via the light meter). To accomplish the later I've been moving a ring attached to the camera. I believe that the numbers on this ring indicate how xth of a second the aperture(?) sill stay open, is this correct?
The other ring I've been moving is the further away from the body. (not my image)

The ring that has the 50mm marker on it. What is the name of that ring and what is it controlling?

That is the aperture ring, it controls how much light passes through the lens by opening/closing the blades, lower numbers allow for faster shutter speeds and also create shallower depth of field.
Are those numbers associated with a unit of measurement?(feet, meters, etc)
Are those numbers associated with a unit of measurement?(feet, meters, etc)
No, just read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aperture, it explains it much better than I can at the moment, I'm fairly inebriated.
I just ordered a battery grip for my 1100D and a few spare batteries for my trip up through Italy into Germany. I also got a viewfinder eyecup that will block out some of the excess light always sneaks in; this means no more nose smudges on the LCD as well. (YAY!)
It pains me to say this, But I must sell my T2i. Super sad face...
I am not saying good bye from photography for good but times are hard so it must go for right now.

I know it kills me, but I will have one again. Who knows maybe the t4i will be out by then :D I actually wonder if their will be a T4i...
they really dont make tripods the same as they used to
m grandpa's tripod was this tiny skinny thing with 3 free legs
i could bring it anywhere and set it up on anything, and it was so light and perfect
i cant find any good light tripods now, they all seem to be huge, or really cheap

I know I'm not going to be able to afford it, but how much are you asking? Or do you already have a buyer?
