Wait you are trying to buy a Nikon because m43 lenses are too expensive? Probably not the bet place to look
Would you guys say a lens hood is a necessity? My photo teacher told me I don't really need one unless I shoot into the sun often, which I don't.
Hoods are not necessary. Most lenses control flare reasonably well (zooms and wide aperture are more prone) and you can always use your other hand to blot out the sun. Some lenses I would opt for a hood, but more often than not they are unnecessary, and I say this as someone who deliberately shoots into the sun often
I only use one if it's a very bright, cloudless day. Even if it only slightly reduces the chance of flare, it's still something. Also, they protect your lens if you accidentally knock it against a wall, or if something slides into it on a car seat, etc.
So I just wanted to get your guys input, I was curious on how many shots my camera has taken, so I used a exiftool to find out and this is what I got: File Number is what I figured out to be my shots, I tested it by taking some random shots.
what if you shot over 9999 photos
what if you shot over 9999 photos
I dont know? The number extend?
what if you shot over 9999 photos
Y2K
101-0000? 100-10000?
no it rolls over to 101 until you empty the card then it's 100 again
Just bought a Lensbaby Composer with the fisheye and double glass optic. Anyone have any experience with these?
no it rolls over to 101 until you empty the card then it's 100 again
So your saying the second number will reset as well?
EDIT 2: Ok, nevermind. Replacing the rubber zoom / focus strap isnt too hard apparently.
what if you shot over 9999 photos
what if you shot over 9999 photos twice
what happens if i find a 2 in binary code?
What happens if you took 9999 photos but from the bitch ain't one?
I purchased a Slightly used D70 with a 18-200mm lens, This also being my first SLR camera I've ever owned.
Ok so im upgrading from a Fujifilm HS10 bridge camera to a dslr and Its between a Nikon 5100 or one of the following canon camera's: 450d 550d 600d, I noticed you can get way cheaper versions of the canon cameras such as the kiss x5, which i have been told is the exact same camera as the 600d but its a foreign version and has no warranty. A part of me would always wish I had the proper 600d version but if there is no other negatives other than a gay name and no warranty then i'm fine with buying it. any advice?

Actually to make this easier, Canon kiss x5 vs nikon d5100
i own a kiss x5 so i'm towards it currently fighting digitalrev over the warranty atm
So I'm trading a bunch of crap into CeX tomorrow for store credit (should come to around £452, from an iPhone 4 and a NEX-5 kit). My local has a B grade 40D on sale for £280. Was thinking of picking that up. They also have a 35mm f/2.0 that I think I'll get to sell for cash (and get an L lens :D).

On second thought: the 450D set, but the 420EZ flash won't work in auto on a 450D because it's a flash meant for analog Canon EOS camera's. Also the 450D noise performance is the same as the 1100D because those 2 have the same sensor, but the sensor is quite good actually.
On second thought: the 450D set, but the 420EZ flash won't work in auto on a 450D.
Who uses auto with a flashgun anyway? Manual always works for me without any settings needing to be changed.
Brand new 600D dropping in my door tomorrow. Can't wait.
Brand new 600D dropping in my door tomorrow. Right Nikon d5100 or canon eos 600d nikon being second hand on ebay with 18-55mm an extra battery and one of those giant clip on batteries. £400 The canon being brand new with the 18 - 55mm lens £435
D5100, and the clip on thing is a battery grip. It's not a battery itself, rather, you add the batteries to it yourself.
canon for it being brand new and the battery grip is prolly a piece of shit considering you need to use a cable for it etc
Yeah I think im gonna go for the 600d, Because I like having lots of buttons on the back, Plus the video capability's on it are fantastic. I dont know where to buy it from though. I was thinking of getting it on ebay due to the cheap price
