Gear discussion thread v. "I own more nifty fifties than cameras they fit"

I now own a Zenit Photosniper FS-12, Its a bloody heavy camera set.
Need a camera bag.
Ive had a look around but I thought I would ask here too.
What it needs to fit:
Canon 600d body
18-55mm lens
50mm lens
uv filter
extra battery
be able to attach a tripod on the bottom
memory cards.
I was thinking of buying the canon 2400 gadget bag, but the only place I can find that ships to UK is an ebay seller from korea (which I would rather avoid)
I have £30 to spend which limits what I can get, but I will only be using the bag to take around non hazardous places (Basically I wont drop it, so it doesn't need to be acid rain and bomb proof)
I found a Lowepro Fastpack 250 at a market for £25, it would be able to fit all of that in the bag, you can attach a tripod in a way that it won't fall out. But I don't believe it was made for a tripod as well
Lucky for you I've been researching the exact same thing (For the exact same camera, and, oddly, the exact same price range. Are you a stalker?)
You can easily get a decent quality bag for that price range, but the problem is buying one with fittings for a tripod, since those don't tend to appear until the £50+ range.
However, some bags do have straps on the underside, so if you buy a pack of velcro straps and D-rings (You can usually buy a pack of each for about £5 the lot on Amazon) you could make your own tripod holder. Secondly, you'll probably want one that has a raincover - always useful in this bloody country.
Here are the three bags I was thinking of buying myself:

This one is pretty cheap with lots of storage, but has practically no features. I'd struggle to recommend it.

This one is good quality from a reputable brand with a lots of separate compartments for £5 more of your budget.

This one has the most features at the right price - a waterproof cover, lots of space, but I can't vouch for the brand since I know nothing about them.
All these would suit, unless anyone else has any better ideas.

What a coincidence, Unfortunately I didn't quite specify what type of bag I meant, Im looking for one of these type of bags rather than a proper back pack

Just bought the lowepro nova 160AW
I figure that I probably shouldn't keep dribbling about my Edixa's film advancing problem in the film thread, so I'll let you guys know here that I was right. The film winder (the bit I wind to take film back into the spool) was the problem as it wasn't lubricated from the years without use. A bit of sewing machine oil fixed that and now the old reflex is both advancing entirely and no longer ripping holes through the perforations.
Hopefully now I can go take some nice shots with it and not worry about the possibility of the shot being messed up.
I lost the adapter to my tripod and wand to build one myself, do you guys know if I can use a simple 6mm screw instead of the 1/4" screws I read up everywhere? It kinda fits but not fully.

Use a 1/4" as buying a set of screws for £1 is better than buying a new camera and lens.
Shower with it.
I can't wait for you to get that thing

The thing is that the screws are really hard to come by here in Germany and I kinda need it fast for shooting shooting stars.

?
Actually, even better: http://www.amazon.de/Kaavie-Kontermuttern-Blitzschuhadapter-Gewindeschraube-Standard-Blitzschuh/dp/B004KIVTQ2/ref=pd_cp_ph_3
(I'm not German, just useful.)
I found what I need in the local photo-shops bargain box, some sort of cap that had this screw, I had to adjust my wooden shoe though since the screw was too tall.
The old one:

The new one works:

It's only for a short time, not built to last but it works.
Hm.
Shooting stars please still be present tonight. Gonna put my UV and polarizer on and go for long exposures.(I don't have an ND)

Actually you want to have maximum brightness of each shooting star.
If you put on filters, stop the lens down and use a huge exposure time, you'll end up with really bright stars and dim shooting stars (if you get any).
What I find is better is to use the lens wide open (if you can focus well enough and if it's sharp enough, if not, stop it down just a bit) and set a normal to medium-high ISO (Basically as high as you can go without bad noise) and use a shorter exposure time. This way, the extremely short duration of the meteors will show up brighter in the image. Set your camera to continuously take photos.

Hello, I'm Roll_Program.
I don't think I can continuously take pics, EOS 500 D.
Is that a Rikenon 50mm lens?
I think the Auto Sears might be a rebranded Rikenon, which is a good lens.
Chinon make good lenses although I don't have any.
I was thinking about buying an intervalometer for timelapse shots. Do you think a chinese knockoff like this will work: Link
I'd use it only a couple times so I figured the original one is not worth it.
I'm wanting to save up for a new lens. I don't know what to get yet. I usually like landscapes and urban scenes though. However, I'm not opposed to taking closeups. I was thinking about maybe a fisheye lens, or maybe a 50mm f/1.8 lens, they're substantially cheaper it seems.
I already have:
Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6
Nikon ED AF Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8
Nikon ED AF Nikkor 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5
Nikon ED AF Nikkor 28-135mm f/3.5-4.5
All for a Nikon D7000.
I'm stuck guys.

If you have one of those fancy calculators you can turn that into an intervalometer: like this

How about a Sigma 30mm or Nikkor 35mm, with a crop-sensored camera like the D7000 that'd be a standard prime

Go for the 35mm f/1.8G DX. I got it for like $180 US in Hong Kong. For that price it is a mad decent lens, if you have nothing against swinging your feet for composition.
I have a Ricoh lens and I have no idea what this "Ricoh pin" is
I didn't know that because I compared my Pentax-M 50mm with my Ricoh 50mm and they had the exact same mount with no differences.
Mine must be a much older model with non of the extra pins

I got something similar for my Nikon D3100 and it works perfectly fine.
Just found a used Canon EOS 450D with kit lens and all the original accessories up for sale. Only a scratch on the camera's screen. 250 euros. Damn nice deal.
Since you guys are far more knowledgeable about this camera stuff, help!
Am looking to get my girlfriend her first digital camera for a holiday we have planned, want it to be around the 100 quid mark and able to fit into a small bag or (more likely) a large pocket. Have seen these two Canon's but has anyone got any personal experience of them and whether they are worth the price? Canon Ixus 220 HS http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CANON-IXUS-220-HS-12-1MP-DIGITAL-CAMERA-SILVER-UK-STOCK-/320959243680#ht_1703wt_905
Canon Ixus 1000 HS http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00400OK5M/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&psc=1&s=photo
You guys got any comments on them or what I should be looking for? Last camera I got was about ten years ago.
