Its a nice Praktica that, I think it looks better in black.
It is black. This isn't my picture. Are there any differences in the M42 adapters? Because I want to use the lenses on my EOS 500d and the adapters are all like 10 bucks on Amazon. [editline]21st August 2012[/editline] There is one WITH autofokus feedback it seems. [editline]21st August 2012[/editline] I'm looking at this one to buy: http://www.amazon.de/Objektivadapter-Canon-Autofokus-Best%C3%A4tigung-EF-Adapter-Ring/dp/B0042SSMP6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1345577230&sr=8-4 [editline]21st August 2012[/editline] Wow, the 135 is 180 € on Ebay and it's called the "Bokeh Monster" haha [editline]21st August 2012[/editline] http://www.flickr.com/groups/bokeh_/discuss/72157594302524412/
I don't think I've seen it, but I googled it. You might recognise it if you google for yourself, I looked for Magic Lantern desert timelapse Had quite a few hits, so I don't know which one you meant. Magic Lantern is for EOS cameras, btw.
Tried out the timelapse function. Kinda behaves weirdly, it somehow makes the Live-View go really slow and choppy.
Just got some camera stuff today Purchased a bundle from Craigslist from a guy who used to shot pro baseball stuff in the 80's. $50 was a pretty sweet deal Canon A-1 Cano MA motor drive Canon nFD 28mm f2.8 Canon nFD 50mm 1.4 Canon FD 135mm 3.5 S.C. Canon nFD 35-70mm f4 Quantaray FD 80-205mm f4.5 Canon FD extender 2x-A And cases and caps for every lens The motor drive won't work, which I believe is from battery acid, can hopefully fix as this is my main reason for purchase because I hate the way the camera balances otherwise. But shutter releases on the grip work, so I'll use it for now Canon A-1 has the eeee ee error when putting the lens in A mode, which means you have to shoot full manual. Not the end of the world, but disappointing considering the Av mode was my main reason of wanting the camera. It's a possible fix but expensive, I'd be better off getting a new one. Lenses are all in nice condition, though only the 50mm 1.4 and 35-70 f4 are actually worth more than a couple bucks. I do not want the zoom or 135 at all (if you guys want to buy, message me and I'll charge little more than shipping!) as I hate zooms and I have the nFD version of the 135 with better coatings. The 28 is whatever, I don't like the focal length but I'll keep it around. The 35-70 might be useful as a walk around because you can't really get faster than f4 with 1/1000 during the day anyways and it is supposed to be an incredible zoom. The extender is worthless to me as its only for 300mm or longer lenses which I do not have. And god I don't want lens cases at all they are a burden. Will probably keep the 1.4 because it's in good condition, my other 50mm has worse coating and is radioactive, plus my 55mm 1.2 is pretty scratched and not very good wide open. So that's a huge rant oh well
I found out why my Kiev 19 gives some unusual exposure values A normal SLR meters the entire frame with a 60% bias to the Centre of the Viewfinder the Kiev 19 does something very different. Here is a terrible paint picture to show what I mean The purple line outlines the part which the Kiev 19 measures the light from. This could be useful for Landscape photographers as it would be exposing for the land and not the sky
Tried out FPS override in MAgic Lantern:

It's most likely you won't use it after a few times because the focal length just isn't practical in most scenarios. Unless you really need it for covering sports or other stuff ofcourse.

I do quite a bit of photojournalistic photos for alamy.com as well as what most people would describe as "Street" photography if that helps.
What should i buy with the money i saved? It's probably the best thing to do considering you were gonna buy an L lens you would probably use only in very specific situations.
What should i buy with the money i saved? I do quite a bit of photojournalistic photos for alamy.com as well as what most people would describe as "Street" photography if that helps.
Photojournalism could benefit from such a lens but other than that, I can't really see someone using such a lens everyday. As for what else to do with it? I don't know, save up for when you really want/need something. Or get a wide-angle lens. It's up to you. I'm just warning you that most people who buy lenses like that and don't do photojournalism or cover sports just don't use it. Same goes for a macro-lens by the way
Why that weird SDHC? That's like 8 or 9 RAW files per second, does the cam support that?
Is it possible to install Magic Lantern CF by transferring the CF file via USB Cable? I don't have a SD Card Reader. (PS: I'm using a 550D)
The dad of a friend of mine owns two SLRs, one of them is an old Nikon. [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/IMG_9082.JPG[/t] Any indication as to which model this is?
I think I know where you got that song from
Found it at some free music site. (PS: I'm using a 550D)
Unfortunately not. The install guide explicitly states so. I don't see why since all you do is putting the files on the SD but I also didn't want to try out. I used the SD slot of my netbook.

Its the only reason I havent tried it yet.
Is there any point in fretting about the installing of it? Its the only reason I havent tried it yet.
No. I've installed it on at least 12 cameras (even all the T3is at my school have it) and haven't had one difficulty. You just make sure you have the right versions ready to go, slap it in there and install. There's really no need to worry.

It was only for the long zooms and L lenses though. Basically canon's only say of not completely fucking over their consumer base they had won over in the late 80's with the AE-1 and great pro lenses. The early EOS was indeed a dark time for Canon.
I found a Bronica EC TL II used for 150 euro's. It comes with the Zenzanon 75mm f2.8 and Zenzanon 150mm f3.5 Does anyone have any experience with Bronica's? For me it seems like a great way to start with medium format photography, especially for that price, but my knowledge is very limited on this
Small question. I have a Minolta XG-M (which has an MD mount) and a Canon 450D (EF-S mount). If I buy a converter (let's say I get this one), and let's assume it's one that allows me to focus to infinity, will it significantly affect image quality in any way? Because I would then be able to use a Minolta 50mm f/1.7 and a Sigma 35-135mm f/3.5 which would be pretty awesome considering my budget. [editline]August 23rd, 2012[/editline] Oh wait. "Product features: Built-in 1.4x Multi-Coated Focusing Correction Lens" The question about image quality still stands though. (And what's with the "1.4x")

"Product features: Built-in 1.4x Multi-Coated Focusing Correction Lens" The question about image quality still stands though. (And what's with the "1.4x")
The converter will make your lenses still focus to infinity, but it'll make the 50mm f/1.7 a 70mm f/2.4 and the 35-135mm a 49-189mm f/5.0 lens because the 1.4x stands for a 1.4x teleconverter. Plus such converters usually ruin the optical quality of your lenses because the glass in them is quite cheapo. I would bother getting the converter and save it for some cheap EF lenses like a 35-70 f/3.5-4.5 and a 70-210 f/4. Those old EF lenses have some decent performance for the price.
Combined with the 1.6x crop factor of my camera, shit son, that's a 78-302mm telephoto right there. This will be interesting. [editline]August 23rd, 2012[/editline] Also a 112mm prime. But f/2.4 is still better than anything I have right now. [editline]August 23rd, 2012[/editline] Thanks for the info by the way! Half of the reviews are positive, half of them negative. Amazons return service is good so if this is not what I want it to be I can return it.
Bronica EC TL II+75mm f2.8 + 150mm f3.5 for 150 euro's yes or no?
Bronica EC TL II+75mm f2.8 + 150mm f3.5 for 150 euro's yes or no?
If it's in good working condition, i'd say yes. Just found it on marktplaats too. Bidding from 150 euro i see. Doubt it if he'll take the first bid of 150, but you'll never know

Well joy to the world my M42 converter came.
He already emailed me back saying he accepts the offer. ;)
It's a fantastic price, but I always want to test stuff out first because my former experience with getting sent broken things by people on marktplaats. So if i'm buying something from it, most of the time I just want to pick it up so I don't get a suprise in the mail. (Dutch: garantie tot aan de voordeur? ;) )
Oh god now I know why it is called the Bokeh monster test shots in a few.
