Yes, please?
I don't get the AF points craze though. I am never using more than 5. The middle one and 1 in each direction. And even that not so often, I rather do the point, focus, reframe, shoot routine.
It's useful for taking pictures of people, especially if few parts of their face are well illuminated.
It allows you to compose without having to move the camera to autofocus at certain high contrast points.

So Nikon made a pretty inspiring film about the D600, using only raw footage from the camera.

I for one would love to have a good AF system.
I've been out for surgery the past 3 weeks, and that's causing me to miss Yearbook class.
My teacher just emailed me today-- Since I'm the lead photo editor he ordered me a brand new Canon 60D exclusively for me.
And he's letting me pick it up today

Shutter count? I don't like the North American naming of the 550D; Rebel T2i. It sounds nicer to say, I have a 550D then a Rebel T2i.

Shutter count is around 15,000. I agree, I think the American naming is a bit weird.
I nearly have all the Soviet made cameras I want.

Looks like a serious piece of kit, what are you going to use it for?

filming :v:

More specifically, filming nature documentary stuff. My dad's always been into wildlife photography and every summer since I was young he'd take me on vacation to places like Yellowstone and Acadia. He's the one that got me into photography and cinematography, and he's always wanted to do a nature doc, so I thought I'd do something special and make one with him, even if very few people will probably see it.
Also I'll probably do some freelance DPing for local commercials, weddings, etc. to bring in some extra dosh.

Give me your dad.
I can't give you one back (*sob* *sob*) but I can give you love.
Let us know how it is! I saw that thing announces and thought it looked incredible the body build is really nice even compared to the fs100 or fs700
Could somebody recommend a good 50mm lens for a canon 600D Other than the f1.8 (Unless you can convince me to buy that one, Just not a fan of its build quality)
I have £100 (So if its none canon, please think about how much an adapter will cost) to spend so I cant get anything fancy. Will be using it for mainly video but also some photography, Probably street shooting, Portrait shots and some indoor scenes.
Thanks :)
Get the canon one. Build quality isn't really that bad, just don't smash it into anything.

Is the Canon's build quality worse than the equivalent Nikon's? I just ask because I've always read about people breaking their 50 1.8, but I've beaten the shit out of my Nikon one. I can't tell you how many times I've thought I broken mine only to see it pull through unscathed.
it is worse, mostly because of the plastic mount. that's really the kicker there.

This happens more often than I thought it would. My RZ has taken a few chunks out of closing doors.

The Nikon 50 1.8 is a very well made lens compared to the canon version, but you kinda expect that when it's over twice the price.
So we got a new shipment this afternoon:
