Tommorow im gonna go get a Nikon D5100
opinions?
The D5200 is already out. At the moment it's even more expensive than a D7000 so it isn't such a good option yet, but you should know it's already here. Just like Trogdon said.
trog, the funny thing is that it's a direct copy of the lens otherwise- I love how the only thing technically missing is the word 'nikkor' on the gold lens spec in the picture, which is just a big black spot
didn't know there was an official model either, though I'd love to have something like the digital rev authentic L-glass mug, heh
Yeah it's a great replica, those are gargantuan lenses! Mine has the Nikkor thing on it. And yeah I had no clue, I just got it as a gift and I think it was expensive. Haven't used it yet I don't drink hot drinks

I won one of those Nikon mugs at a trade night, but I've never really got around to using it. Still in the little gold box and everything.

Dear god that quality from an ipad is horrible.
Canon 7d
sigma 70-300 APO DG macro f/4 5.6
canon 24 - 105 L MUG IS USM
Nikon d3000
nikon 18 - 55 DX nikkor f/3.5 5.6
Nice little Nikon bag I got last year as a present.
52mm graduated polariser
Zacuto Z viewfinder ( a total steal on Ebay. It was bundled with the 7d for £700 )
Nikon to canon EOS coupler.
I mainly do motorsport photography, and the sigma is a god.

Happened to my friend yesterday during a shoot:

360 no front element
That's so hipster
He plopped the front element right back in, works like a charm.
Except for the AF noise, which he likened to a ford sierra without a muffler
Got to play around with a 6D today, damn I love the noise they make.
I have a feeling that Nsybouts is going to go: Must buy.
By the way, get your SD card into use and show us videos!

I could never afford to drop over $2000 on a camera, I would be homeless.
The 6D is $2000 and has one control wheel

sounds like a first gen ipod
So I just got a Sigma 30mm 1.4 (finally) but I think I might have gotten a bad one. The focus ring doesn't move smooth at all (actually worse in manual than in AF/override), almost feels like turning a non-FTM lens in AF mode.
And not sure about that one, but if I shake it I can feel and hear something move inside of it rather clearly. Tried my other lenses and they kinda have it, but much less pronounced, so I don't know if something's wrong or if it's just built like that.
The loud AF is normal though, right?
Probably not gonna chance it, I'll just send it back and get a replacement and get a replacement I guess
