Computer World is my favorite Kraftwerk album It's impossible to choose a specific favorite song from them - all their stuff is good
heil kling klang
Boing, Boom, Tschack (Ping)
I like what kraftwerk is up to these days
This thread needs some more of their Krautrock era material:
Whilst I dislike some of their songs , and could really enjoy listening to other , I really do appreciates some of the remixes of their songs. Ingenious and still sound unique in their own way.

Radioaktivität is possibly one of my favourite electronic songs of all time. The intro is just so pumping and I kinda wish they were used alot more in the song. TSCHERNOBYL HARRISBURG SELLAFIELD HIROSHIMA
There are 2 recorded versions of Radioaktivität, the one from the compilation album The Mix is a live version I think, then the one from the album Radioaktivität which is definitely a studio verison. [editline]29th December 2011[/editline] I love them both.

Listening to this band is fun fun fun
Listening to this band is fun fun fun

No! Someone else told me that they [the misinterpreters] thought the way we speak in German, 'Fahren,' which means driving, sounds like the English word, 'fun.' 'Fahren fahren fahren,' 'fun fun fun.' That is wrong. But it works. Driving is fun. We had no speed limit on the autobahn, we could race through the highways, through the Alps, so yes, fahren fahren fahren, fun fun fun. But it wasn't anything to do with the Beach Boys! We used to drive a lot, we used to listen to the sound of driving, the wind, passing cars and lorries, the rain, every moment the sounds around you are changing, and the idea was to rebuild those sounds on the synth.
[editline]2nd January 2012[/editline]
The Mix album is all studio versions too, but it's a sort of live album in that all the tracks are remixed versions and a few of them segue into each other.
Kraftwerk has described themselves as a band for live performances, and their studio albums each as a chronology of their live set at that time. These days their live concerts play material from all across their history pretty much. Reflecting this, The Mix is also a mixture of material from across their history. Furthermore, their actual live album, titled Minimum-Maximum, is similar. I own it, it's actually really good. Everything is so modernized and made powerful. Trans-Europe Express, Dentaku, Autobahn, and Aéro Dynamik are tracks that stand out to me as significantly epic. Some tracks are rather similar to their The Mix versions, but improved in (nearly) every way. Also live album atmosphere...

I'd not say better than originals. Listening to a classic album start to finish has its benefits. But the individual songs are made somewhat more powerful.
hey it's this old thread. nope kraftwerk still sounds fresh 2012.
You ever get Der Katalog/ The Catalogue? I got it for Jesus day, when I'm safe and sound at home I shall give it a proper review.
uh yeah you are speaking to the guy who made the official kraftwerk thread!! the only remaster i didn't like was the Radioactivity one, i think the album is better with static and noise.
So, The Catalogue or Der Katalog? What language?
So, The Catalogue or Der Katalog? What language?
The Catalogue. i already own everything kraftwerk did in both languages so i decided to just get it in english.
Damn! You truly are the better fan. To you I bow down.
i've been a fan since i was like 17 boy you got nothin on me
Bitch I ain't even 17 I must've heard Radio-Activity (album version) when I was 8 or something, driving in the car. Kraftwerk was my first "favorite band ever".
who give ashit what age, only I am the one who is able to visualise the future landscapes while listening to the Man-Machine album. :smug:

Amazing how they were able to edit a 22 minute song down to 3 minutes
Amazing how they were able to edit a 22 minute song down to 3 minutes
Did not know the full version was 22 minutes long, I've only listened to the version on Maximum/Minimum, which was awesome. Also I prefer the live version of numbers.
