Freelancer
Maplestory
Half-Life 1/2
The Sims
Tropico
Worms
Liero
Spider-Man (2000) for PS1 - Got me into Spider-Man as crazily as I am now and was one of the first games I ever seriously played
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - I sank so much of my middle school years in this it's not even funny. I was too young to appreciate Morrowind, but I was at the right age for this
Halo's series as a whole - First major series I was into, has pretty much shaped my definition of multiplayer games and shooters in general
Half Life 2 and the other source games - My first real foray into PC Gaming
The Sly Cooper Trilogy - One of my favorite series' and the one I remember most fondly as a kid
Oh, special mention goes to Kingdom Hearts as well. It's weeby as fuck, but I loved it so much despite not being a disney fan, and it was an obsession for awhile. I still have fun playin them
Unreal Tournament 99
Mario 64
Goldeneye 64
BF1942 + expansion packs
Neverwinter nights
My childhood was amazing
Wario Land 4 (i think that this is one of the best platformers of all time)

Halo
Dark Reign

Medal of Honor: Underground
Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
Medal of Honor: Spearhead
Medal of Honor: Breakthrough

Halo 1
Super Mario Bros. 3
Super Mario Advance - Introduced me to Super Mario Bros. 2, one of my favorite Mario games, aswell as my favorite version.
Warcraft III: Frozen Throne - My uncles had this and introduced me to it. Found out about Dota this way.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 - Ended up playing this at my uncles. Loved it so much that I bought it for my PSP, disappointed at that version.
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (arcade version, MAME) - From all the games my uncles had on MAME, the Mortal Kombat series was one we played a lot. UMK3 was the one we played the most and thus brought my love for the fighting series.
Rollercoaster Tycoon - Got it in a German gaming magazine one time while traveling. Despite it being in German (and using the Mark), I got addicted to it.

Wowie, good thread, a chance to have a look back and realise the influences on me. Thanks OP.
It will have started with Doom. An au-pair from the Czech Republic brought it on floppy disc, but once he left for home it was lost. I spent many hours of my youth searching every single file on the PC for the game, but I couldn't find it.

Next would probably be Crash Bandicoot, a really straight forward option. This game led to me purchasing a Playstation magazine in hopes of finding out secrets or easter eggs, which then lead to me discovering another bunch of games I wanted to play. Jumping on the baby polar bears head 14 (~) times in a row to get free lives lives on in my memory no doubt forever.

Another one in a similar category to Crash, would have to be Command & Conquer: Red Alert. I will have spent countless numbers of hours playing this back on the Playstation, except I will have had no idea what I was actually doing. I remember playing one specific scenario over and over, and doing the exact same thing each time. That being, sell my 'useless' walls and buying more dogs, then losing a group of 50 dogs to a single tank. Oops.

Once again, another from a similar era. Die Hard: Trilogy had me pointing my light gun at the TV screen for hours on end. I'd love to know how many hours I put into it, to only ever complete it TWICE. Awesome game, very violent for that age I guess, but oh well.
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/MWN60nv.jpg[/img_thumb]
Lastly would have to be Battlefield: 2142, the game that caused me to purchase my first graphics card. However, when the card arrived I found out that it didn't even fit in my case, so I couldn't even play. It took me 7 months to save up for the rest of a PC, and to this day have never actually played the game. Gateway though!

(Is this the game? I wouldn't even know...)
Thanks OP, good thread.
Homeworld (and Cata)
XCOM
Star Control 2
Creatures
Lego Rock Raiders
Super Mario Allstars (Does it count as one game? :v:)
Majoras Mask
Sly Racoon 2
World of Warcraft
GTA San Andreas
Command and Conquer
Super Smash Brothers
StarFox 64
GoldenEye
Spyro
Ratchet and Clank
Medal of Honor (first one made for PS1)
Medal of Honor: Frontline
Worms 4: Mayhem
Rayman
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Actually played it with my daycare teacher in 4th grade. Fucking badass.)
Star Wars Battlefront 1 & 2 (Best mass fighting game ever.)
Madden series (I have 98 through 15. Yeah. I got a lot of Madden)
Halo 2 (Banshee fights in Ascension. The best thing ever. We'd have one banshee vs two people. Then we'd swing the Banshee through the middle and try to smash whoever tried to jack it. Took a lot of practice but eventually it got very competitive. Remember when we first got system link we tied to the top of the entertainment center and held it up with a wooden post. Blocked us from seeing each others screens.)
Lord of the Rings Two Towers & Return of the King (Whatever time I did spend playing games with my Dad, it was spent playing these. These games were amazing. Fuck the berserkers though.)

Hell yeah, Red Alert Retaliation! The remixed soundtrack for that game was way better than the PC version. That game was half the reason I learned to read. Dad always sat with me and read the unit tiles. All the CnC games were great but Generals was probably my favourite.
Welp, my other four games then would be
Ratchet & Clank series
Jak series
Age of Empires/Mythology/Empire Earth
RuneScape
special shout-out to KotOR
Super Mario 64
Command and Conquer 95
Operation flashpoint-Cold war crisis
Xiii
Doom 2 - I met John Romero two days ago, He and his wife where doing talks and workshops in my college, I kind of regret not getting my copy of Doom 2 signed.
