The bit that fires out is clearly not a Sabot, though.
the general population would probably call it hilarious bullshit/lack of gun knowledge if a tiny missile shaped bullet came out of the rifle
I mean we can also say it's hundreds of years into the future and we've probably invented a new sabot-like bullet but whatever

You can go into a game of Halo, pause the game in theater mode and see the sabot peeling off the bullet in mid flight. It doesn't look like that at all. Even if they could potentially make a bullet-like sabot, they didn't.
I mean, don't think I'm just shitting over it for the sake of shitting over it. I don't like what 343 did with Halo 4 and 5 looks like more of the same to me, but I'm just bringing it up because I thought that muck up was silly.
They basically did the same thing with Arbiter. Out of nowhere they brought in this new character that we were suddenly supposed to care about, even though he was out for chief's blood, and it worked. Arby ended up being a fan favorite.
Arbiter also came in during Halo 2, when half the characters were introduced for the first time.
This is Halo 5.

And the most of the characters introduced in Halo 2 are dead or gone, so that doesn't really matter. Aside from the people that appeared in Halo 4 and Arbiter, most of 5's cast is probably gonna be new.

To be fair, I think the point he was trying to establish is that Halo 2 still had more ground to cover in expanding the universe at that time, as it was an earlier entry in the series with less background story.
I like Locke's voice / dialog more out of those two.

But in seriousness you can change the glossiness with a single texture map (roughness or metallic values in UE4, dunno about what this is made in) so the shader is probaby fine. I mean look at the gun, if it was the shader the gun would also be glossy (yeah it looks plasticy but modern guns are equal parts alloy and polymer anyway because muh space age)
Fire the texture artist.
It was whoever rigged the materials, in a physically based system, conductors (metals, alloys, etc) tint the specular reflections, while dialectric (plastic, rubber, etc) don't. So if the surface of the spartan's armor doesn't tint, it's probably made out of plastic :v:.

What? I don't have an x360 anymore, so I'd love a screenshot.

I've gotten so used to Chief only speaking in short sentences so hearing him talk for an extended period of time just seems a little strange.
Looks good, I might just get it
fire whoever's responsible for those shaders, the armor looks like cosplay plastic
or...
paint

Like I said it's probably just the weird shading/lighting. They ported the model from Reach to a different engine that doesn't have the same capabilities so maybe that's part of why it happened too?
It's the rig.
My name is Locke. Pronounced Lock-ee

thanks 343 you pooplords
Never before in my entire life, during my days meeting people, reading books/their related media, or watching TV and movies have I ever heard the last name Locke pronounced Lock-ee.
lock key
This. Was it worth it, Flipyap? All those humans you killed, all that you did? Was it? Was it?
