I got more into 3D-art recently. You know, making a model, texturing and rendering it and such. It is somewhat difficult to get good at it and finish some bigger projects, so I checked DA to get some motivation and see what other people are up to. Here is a good art for reference: [T]http://pre08.deviantart.net/3a0e/th/pre/f/2016/156/f/d/funtime_foxy_fnaf_sisterlocation___own_design_by_qutiix-da52df1.png[/T] The model is presented with a bland, darker blue background with a black gradient, which focuses on the model (as it should since this seems to be a presentation of the model) and you can see a lot of detail when you zoom in on the picture. The pose is very stiff and robotic, which in this case fits since our subject is a robot. I also like how balanced the colors are and how the reflections of the eyes make the character seem more alive. I would criticize it for being slightly low-poly, but you can only see that when you zoom in and the model also made to be compatible with SFM, so it doesn't matter much. Overall, a great picture! That was fine and all, but this is DAAS and not an art school so you know why I am here. Here are bad/alright models presented poorly: [T]http://orig15.deviantart.net/4156/f/2016/242/0/5/commission___it_samewario48_by_animatorrobot-dafxj85.png[/T] [T]http://orig05.deviantart.net/8632/f/2016/243/7/3/wycig_kao_by_detexki99-dafz0i4.png[/T] [T]http://img04.deviantart.net/44e6/i/2016/242/4/a/bid_toy_bonnie_by_junior3dgames_by_junior3dgamesoficial-dafwr7d.png[/T] [T]http://pre03.deviantart.net/97a9/th/pre/i/2016/242/d/b/fuck_off_by_absentedtangent-dafv382.png[/T] [T]http://orig06.deviantart.net/e5ff/f/2016/242/7/6/continue__by_tottalynotdino-dafumpt.jpg[/T] [T]http://img04.deviantart.net/0f84/i/2016/242/c/7/scottie_page_doll__for_toyfredentertainmnt__by_eyeofpeace-dafu0y7.png[/T] oh and since we are on the topic of quicksand, I found this guy: http://personsix.deviantart.com/gallery/

Why are you spewing bullshit?
People are attracted to quality. People will spend more money and jump through more hoops to get a better quality product or experience. They will even break rules/laws to do so if necessary. Allow me to explain. In the 1950s, African-Americans were not allowed to sit the front of city buses. African-Americans did not like this restriction, and they rebelled. You've probably learned about one of those rebels in American History class, Rosa Parks. Why did they rebel? All the seats on the bus were the same size and shape, made from the same materials, and traversed the same bus routes. They rebelled because they wanted a better quality view out of the front windshield. So they boycotted the Montgomery city bus system, and the restriction was dropped. Now that makes sense. If you were going to the movies, or to a concert, or riding on a roller coaster, you'd want to sit up front if possible. Sitting up front gives you the best view. And if you were attending a live concert, sporting event, or speech, you'd also be showing more respect to the presenters by sitting up front. You'd be showing you were genuinely interested in what they had to offer. However, there is one designation of quality in our modern lives that does not make sense to me. It seems that everybody believes that M-rated games are high quality and E-rated games are low quality. And it seems that the gaming industry as a whole is doing everything in its power to promote that belief. The Entertainment Software Ratings Board was created in 1994 in response to a game called "Mortal Kombat". It was a one-on-one fighting game where you could not only make your opponent bleed when you hit your opponent, you could also rip your opponent's internal organs out. This game got a lot of attention from gamers and took a lot of heat from outsiders. It also led to a comparison that caused a great divide in gaming. There were two versions of Mortal Kombat available to the general public on home consoles. The Nintendo version did not have any blood or gore. The Sega version did, and outsold the Nintendo version five to one. So not only did Mortal Kombat lead to the M rating, it also changed the amount of money game developers received for their projects. If your game was going to be rated M, you'd get much more money than you would if your game was going to be rated E. Because of this digital budgetary divide, the following belief became pervasive among gamers: E-rated games stink, and M-rated games rule. This also affected how children and teenagers perceived the ESRB. Parents, educators, and politicians saw ESRB ratings as a necessary barrier to protect children and prevent school shootings. Children and teenagers saw the ESRB restrictions as an infringement on their First Amendment rights, an affront to their dignity, a unfair prohibition against the highest quality interactive experiences. So if children and teenagers wanted to reclaim their dignity and exercise their First Amendment rights, they needed to break the rules and play M-rated games before they were old enough to do so. That's what playing M-rated games is about, right? It's not about desensitizing yourself to horrific and deplorable violence and other disgusting content. It's not about plotting the next mass shooting. It's about being a first-class citizen. It's about the pursuit of the highest quality entertainment. Let's stop and think for a moment. If E-rated games had higher development budgets than M-rated games, that would mean E-rated games had higher quality, and you wouldn't be so eager to buy M-rated games, now would you? When you place visual symbols on product packaging indicating high quality, and then link restrictions to the high-quality products, people will want to rebel against those restrictions if they fall into the "restricted category"...unless you have a different definition of quality. Women have a different definition of quality than men. Women are not so fascinated by graphic violence, sexuality, and profanity like men are. One of the favorite series of games among women is the Nancy Drew series of mystery games. Women also enjoy life simulation games like The Sims series. I also have a different definition of quality when it comes to games, even though I'm a guy. I was a very imaginative child, because I preferred to build things out of Legos or draw pictures than spend all my time watching TV during my formative years. So the first game I really enjoyed was SimCity. I started playing SimCity when I was eight or nine. I still remember the 5.25" disk the game came on and starting the game at the DOS command prompt. When I was fourteen, I got my first gaming console, a Nintendo 64. The Nintendo 64 got me interested in racing games, the first being Crusin' USA. Other games I have enjoyed growing up include the RollerCoaster Tycoon series, the Microsoft Flight Simulator series, Trackmania Sunrise, the Project Gotham Racing series, and the Forza Motorsport series. But the one thing I have never enjoyed in gaming is mandatory combat. Let me give you an example. When I got my Sega Dreamcast console in 1999, I got Sonic Adventure to go along with it. I enjoyed zooming around lush environments at high speed and performing awesome stunts as Sonic The Hedgehog. However, I did not enjoy the mandatory boss battles that came between levels at all. They really slowed the game down for me. In short, because of my childhood, I consider games that give you the power to create to be higher quality than games that give you the power to destroy. How can this digital budgetary divide be fixed? Here are my suggestions. 1. Add more creativity to sports games. Sports games like Forza Motorsport 6 and NBA 2K17 sell a lot of copies, and nobody seems to notice or care that they're rated E. If you're a teenager or an adult, you can talk about these games in public without fear of social ridicule. Forza Motorsport 6 lets you paint cars using a multitude of shapes and every color in the visual spectrum. You can add colorful tattoos to your NBA star in NBA 2K17. A logical next step would be to add a track creation tool to Forza Motorsport 7, or to add a golf course creation tool to the next licensed professional golf game. 2. Want to make E-rated games that don't feature cartoonish visuals, oversimplified gameplay, or zero replay value? Start your own gaming company, because none of the big gaming companies will give you the money for a high-quality product unless your game is rated M or modeled after a real-world sports league. Does this sound too expensive. for you? Maybe if you win the Powerball jackpot, you would have enough money to start a gaming company. Or if you're really ambitious and a good multitasker, run two companies at once. Company A can make games, and Company B can provide another good or service. Steve Jobs was able to run both Apple Computer and Pixar at once. Elon Musk is the CEO of both SpaceX and Tesla Motors. 3. If you're a parent, encourage creativity in your small children, like my parents have, instead of just parking them in the front of the TV. Give them construction toys like LEGOs and K'NEX. Give them Crayola crayons/markers and paper. Give them a Magna-Doodle. Give them anything so that they can create movies in their mind that are more amazing than those on a screen. I hope that this article has enlightened you and made you think. If you have additional ideas so that E-rated games can get the money and quality they deserve, please let me know.
Oh god.
