• Would you Abort a Fetus That was Going to be Homosexual?

Why does everyone seem to assume this was my idea or that I'd support this
I'd abort a fetus of any kind because the thought of being a father disgusts me at this stage in my life.
Yes Totally
Though couldn't you put it another way, if in this magical science land you have created. Would you (this is to everyone who wants to answer this) change the babies sexuality if the technology was there and there was 100% no risk involved to the child?
I'm disgusted by anyone who voted yes.
I'm disgusted by anyone who voted yes.
I voted yes, not because they were homosexual, just because I'd abort the child regardless of their sexual preference.
I don't know whether you're being sarcastic or not...
I wasn't being sarcastic. It felt like the OP was saying that abortion is bad unless the foetus is gay. That seems a bit Republican...

I'm not strictly speaking "Straight" as I'm an heteroromantic asexual, so changing a babys sexuality would both feel immoral and hypocritical.
I wouldn't be having a child in the first place so no.
OP is homophobic
I'd beat the gaybows out of em.
No, are you retarded?
No I wouldn't. Gay or not, he'd still be my kid and I'd fully support him. People who honestly vote yes are homophobic douchebags.
OP is homophobic
He is gay FYI.
Why isn't their a "Maybe" option? And how would you know? (Im sure everyone asked that question.)
You really have to explain "attempt to see if the child would turn out straight" to me.
At an early age if it was a guy, I would try to get him into the stuff that I liked when I was a kid. Nerdy stuff like pokemon and stuff. Still try to be a better father than my own dad. I don't really believe a child knows what sexuality is fully enough to make their own informed decision that doesn't ring true for transgender but thats because of the switch around that occurs. Even then I would let my child chose to become a guy or girl when they can make an informed decision.
Sexuality is not a choice.
So you believe that anyone with the breast cancer gene will automatically get breast cancer? If not then the over used "I was born this way," argument rings hollow for the most part. IF you do then you do not fully understand how genetics works or objectively only follow a few of the rules and then make your own.
So you believe that anyone with the breast cancer gene will automatically get breast cancer?
Perhaps I'm wrong, but as far as I know, sexuality is influenced by a number of factors, some genetic, some related to upbringing, but no one makes a choice about who they're attracted to. It's an innate characteristic.
Let's assume that in some sci-fi world that scientists could somehow tell if a child was going to be homosexual before it was born.
There already is. It's an HIV test.

A baby must learn to moves its limbs before it can crawl, and learn to crawl before wobbling and so on.
There already is. It's an HIV test.
Ha Too bad straight people can get HIV
I'm sorry, but I just can't understand you. Your grammar is atrocious.
No sleep can do that to ya. I pretty much used the metaphor, you need to crawl before you walk as an allusion to the fact that learning your true sexuality is a multi-step process.

Your first post made it sound like you thought a person's sexuality was the result of a conscious choice, like choosing what clothes to wear.
Ah, I'm sorry then. Your first post made it sound like you thought a person's sexuality was the result of a conscious choice, like choosing what clothes to wear.
No, I would never say it was just one. It is part genetic and part what someone learns over their lifetime. They DO make the final decision and before you toss the idea of who would want to be gay, sexuality is one of the core instincts of the human and animal nature. It would be expected that something such as someone's sexuality would take precedent over how worried they are about how others respond.
No, not even if it were to be a gay furry
No, but if I were your mom I would've aborted you
