The reason it costs so much was because Tommy Wiseau couldn't decide whether he wanted to shoot in film or HD so he filmed it in both.
Tommy Wiseau got the money from importing leather jackets. [editline]8th July 2011[/editline] So he says.

Star Wars When the stormtroopers break into the control room, the stormtrooper on the right of the screen hits his head on the door frame. On the DVD release they've added a thump when he hits it. Harrison Ford wasn't an original candidate to play Han Solo. He was originally brought in simply to feed lines to the other auditioners. After watching Ford, George Lucas realized he was the perfect Han.

Superman 4 was originally going to be the worst movie of all time if they had gone through with the original nucleur man concept. :v:
The TV version of The Big Lebowski changes "This is what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass!" to "This is what happens when you find a stranger in the alps!"
^That is true. While filming The Wild Bunch, director Sam Peckinpah was angered with some of the gunshot effects to the point of taking his own revolver and shooting a wall (much to the surprise of the crew) and yelling "That's the way I want it!" or something to that effect.
The TV version of The Big Lebowski changes "This is what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass!" to "This is what happens when you find a stranger in the alps!"
Just like the part in Scarface, when it says "where'd you get the beauty scar, Tony? Eating pussy?" it was changed to "Where'd you get the beauty scar, Tony? Eating Pineapple?"

The series broke the Guinness World Record for being one of the most expensive movie sets ever made ($?) -The U.S. Army and the U.S. Marines offered monetary support for the film Heartbreak Ridge. Though after reviewing the character, Gunnery Sergeant Thomas Highway, they removed their offer. -In Gangs of New York, Daniel Day Lewis played the antagonist Bill "The Butcher" Cutting. The models were so convincing that the CIA pursued the model tanks while they were being transported via truck. The crew was questioned by the CIA. -In Red Dawn, the scene in where Soviet paratroops started to land around the school, one of the actors was dropped in the wrong location due to sudden changes in the wind. Being suspended from a tree, the locals were terrified of the actor since he was so realistically dressed as a Soviet paratrooper. He was held at gunpoint until he was able to speak fluent English. -The Blues Brothers once held the record for crashing the most police cars in a movie at approximately 30. The record was eventually broken by Blues Brothers 2000. -The name of the planet Tatooine came from the town of Tataouine in Tunisia where the movie was filmed.
-The Blues Brothers once held the record for crashing the most police cars in a movie at approximately 30. The record was eventually broken by Blues Brothers 2000.
The Blues Brothers is one of my favourite films of all time, while The Blues Brothers 2000 is probably the worst film i ever saw. -The original name of the lead character in the script was Indiana Smith. His name was changed to Jones on the first day of production. -Jeff Bridges turned down the role of Indiana Jones. -The Iron Giant is the first traditionally-animated feature to have a major character - the title character - who is fully computer-generated. -Ferris wears a different outfit in each scene before he and Cameron go to pick up Sloane.
In Fight Club - the scene where Edward Norton punched Brad Pitt in the ear was genuine before the scene was recorded the Director told Norton to actually hit Pitt after Norton hit's Pitt you can actually see him laughing.
He also spent a lot of money on a large billboard advertising the film, which remained up till 2006, 3 years after the film was released.
Because the best way to market a film is Tommy Wiseau's massive face leering over Los Angeles.
-George Lucas' first film THX 1138 is supposedly named after his San Francisco phone number (849-1138) -Many George Lucas films after THX 1138 reference the number 1138 many times
-In the film Deer Hunter, Chistopher Walken underwent a diet of only rice and bananas in order to give his character an authentic emaciated look while being a POW. -In Catch me if you Can, a deleted scene involved Frank Abignale Jr. masquerading as a security guard, standing near a bank deposit box so that people can give him the money to deposit instead. During filming of this scene, real people actually gave Leonardo DiCaprio real money to deposit.
Godzilla's roar is actually a leather glove being dragged down a bass.

As for the cameras. Tommy had an HD tape camera fixed mounted next to a 35mm Arri BL film camera. Basically the HD camera was ignored and they light the scenes for the 35mm He also BOUGHT all the equipment for the movie instead of renting it which is probably how the budget surpassed more than a hundred thousand dollars [editline]7th July 2011[/editline]
-Roland Emmerich, director of Independence Day asked the U.S. Airforce for any advice and input for the flying of jets involved in the film. In the French translation of Back to the Future, Lorraine thinks Marty's real name is Pierre. They didn't have Calvin Kline in Europe at the time, so they changed his briefs to Pierre Cardin.
The Zombie Kill of the Week scene in Zombieland was filmed a very short drive from here in the town square. I've been there several times Also, part of the next season of The Walking Dead is being filmed at my high school. Kinda sucks that I stopped going about a year ago, but still.
Godzilla's roar is actually a leather glove being dragged down a bass.
-snip- Whoops. I was thinking of the TIE Fighter sound that was a car on a wet tarmac at high speeds. Also, Raiders of the Lost Ark was almost rated R due to the scene where [sp]Belloq's[/sp] head exploded (because a face melting and a Nazi's head being sucked into itself is fine). To avoid such a rating, a jet of flame was edited in over the head explosion scene. Off topic: I wonder how many people are now floating onto the IMDB trivia boards looking for trivia rather than using trivia they already knew.
The Grand Staircase in Titanic (1997) is wider than the real staircase was because the actors were fatter than most people in 1912.
In Predator, an attempt was made to get shots of the Predator swinging from tree to tree using a monkey in a red special-effects suit. However, the monkey kept removing the suit and the idea was abandoned.

Tim Burton, the director of the Planet of the Apes(2001) is afraid of monkeys.
well, that's a resonable fear. you heard the story about the girl who got her face ripped off by a chimp?
Anthony Burgess, author of "A Clockwork Orange" didn't like Stanley Kubrick's film adaption because he changed the ending.
I didn't read the book but I saw its ending on IMDB and I've gotta say I like the film version better. The book version seems [sp]too perfect compared to the rest of story[/sp]
The movie Battle Los Angeles (2011), starring Aaron Eckhart, was really bad.
When I watched the DVD version of that, I thought I was watching a shitty B-Movie knockoff version by mistake.
-The original ending to Clerks (1994) continued past the scene where Randall tosses the "I assure you we're open" banner to Dante. After "wrangling" out leaving Dante alone in the closed Quick stop reading the newspaper when a man walks in (a beardless Kevin Smith). Dante tells the man that the store is closed when the man suddenly pulls a gun out and shoots Dante in the head killing him in cold blood and then empties out the register. The final shot in the movie is the Dead Dante's opened eye death face. The scene was filmed but cut before release when the crew suggested that Smith end the movie immediately after Randall Tosses Dante the banner, effectively leaving the movie on a happy note. In hindsight Smith was glad this was done as he believes if Dante was killed the view-askewniverse would never exist. The original ending can be watched here:
