In Evil Dead 2, one of the books on the can that traps Ash's possessed hand is Ernest Hemingway's "A Farewell to Arms".

During the making of The Shining, Stanley Kubrick would occasionally call Stephen King at 3:00 a.m. and ask him questions like "Do you believe in God?"
Also in Super 8 When [sp]the water tower electromagnet is activated, you can see a bike similar to the one seen in E.T attached the to water tower, this is a throwback to Spielberg's E.T. [/sp]
I didn't notice this when i watched the movie, it wasn't until my supervisor at work told me about it.

In the movie Dirty Harry, Harry Callahan's infamous .44 S&W model 29 is only seen in close up shots or when he is just holding it, whenever Callahan fires the gun he is actually firing a S&W Model 25 which fires .45 acp rounds as .45 acp blank rounds were readily available for film in the 70's while blank .44's were not.
The space backgrounds in 2001: A Space Odyssey were all elaborate paintings.
Also Kubrick destroyed all the props when filming was completed.
In Clerks, Jeff Anderson didn't feel comfortable reading porn titles in front of a child, so the scene where he orders porn on the phone was shot at two different times, with him reading the list at one time, and the mother/daughter reacting at another time.
The ending to Full Metal Jacket was originally to include a scene, after when the sniper was killed, where Animal Mother chops of the sniper's head, saying he was the bigger badass (essentially). The ending was filmed, but was not included in the final cut, for reasons unknown.
On the subject of Nicholas Cage.
Next(2007)-
In the scene where Nicolas Cage is zapping through TV channels, he stops at one showing the movie Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964), leaving it on for the FBI to listen to. The plot of "Dr. Strangelove" is about a rogue general attempting to start a nuclear holocaust with a wayward nuke. An obvious reference to the nuke in Next (2007).
I remember that. I was watching it, and he stopped it on that channel, I was like "That's fucking Dr. Strangelove what the hell."
Also in the movie Signs, with Mel Gibson, in one scene the daughter is watching an episode of Dexter's Lab, where he can communicate with fish. I know this because I have seen that episode.
In A Serious Man, which takes place during 1967/1968, the albums Abraxas by Santana and Cosmo's Factory by Creedance Clearwater Revival are mentioned. This is an anachronism, seeing ans both albums didn't come out until 1970.

Also Abraxas is a Gnostic term for God. Fitting into the themes of the movie when Larry says, "...I didn't ask for Santana Abraxas, I don't want Santana Abraxas, I didn't listen to Santana Abraxas."
In Pitch Black Vin Diesel did actually dislocate his shoulders to show the Director that he could do the stunt, but due to the way he was tied up when shooting, they had to special effect it slightly.
What a fucking downer ending. I'm glad they cut it.
Whats even more of a downer is that Kevin Smith went from having a great body to John Travolta.
Near the end of Star Wars Episode 4, Luke and Leia call each other by their actor names.
Mark and Carrie? When's this?
I hope you guys don't mind that this trivia is from a series rather than from a movie :v:
Tim Curry was originally going to be the voice actor for the Joker in Batman: The Animates Series.
However his impersonation was considered too creepy and was threatening to damage his throat, because of this he was replaced by Mark Hamill.
The close-up of the egg that is about to hatch in Alien is actually filmed upside down to give it a weirder and mysterious look. You can actually tell it's filmed upside down by the fact that the water/slime droplets on the egg seem to be ignoring gravity and flowing up towards the opening of the egg.
Also, the 'facehugger' seen moving in the same egg are Ridley Scott's gloved hands moving around.
-Dave Chappelle was contacted to be casted as Bubba in Forrest Gump. He declined the offer, stating that the character appeared 'racially demeaning'. He came to later regret his decision to decline.
Wow, Dave Chappelle has made some bad career choices. He was offered the role of Tyrone in Requiem of a Dream, but turned it down.
In Predator, they had to hire bodyguards to guard the cast from the actor Sonny Landham because he was a dangerous person.
Mark and Carrie? When's this?
when luke jumps out of the x-wing after the deathstar is destroyed
I can't really see Dave Chappelle as Buba.
when luke jumps out of the x-wing after the deathstar is destroyed
I've heard that and I watch out for it now when I watch it but I've never actually witnessed it, either I missed it, or did they dub it on newer versions?
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Many extras were authentic mental patients.
Trainspotting
For its American release, the first 20 minutes had to be re-dubbed to make the Scottish accents more intelligible.
The Exorcist is the top grossing R-rated film of all time.
The iconic groaning noise emitted by the female ghost in the film Grudge was actually made through the use of a hair comb.
The actor who played as the boy ghost, Toshio in Grudge was actually terrified of cats.
Much of the scenes in the The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly were actually shot in Spain.
When the T-1000 in Terminator 2 is impersonating Sarah Connor, the second Sarah isn't camera trickery - it's her own twin sister.
-The original ending to Clerks (1994) continued past the scene where Randall tosses the "I assure you we're open" banner to Dante. After "wrangling" out leaving Dante alone in the closed Quick stop reading the newspaper when a man walks in (a beardless Kevin Smith). Dante tells the man that the store is closed when the man suddenly pulls a gun out and shoots Dante in the head killing him in cold blood and then empties out the register. The final shot in the movie is the Dead Dante's opened eye death face. The scene was filmed but cut before release when the crew suggested that Smith end the movie immediately after Randall Tosses Dante the banner, effectively leaving the movie on a happy note. In hindsight Smith was glad this was done as he believes if Dante was killed the view-askewniverse would never exist.
The original ending can be watched here:

I remember the first time I watched this, I had no fucking idea what anyone was saying half the time.
In some spice girls movie, there's a scene where one is eating a lolipop and in some cuts of the scene it's a different color than it is in others.
In Back to the Future when Marty first goes back in time the mall is called "Twin Pines Mall". In 1955 he runs over one of 'old man' Peabody's pine trees. On his return to 1985 the mall is now called "Lone Pine Mall".
I actually remember noticing that the first time a saw the movie.
In Predator, they had to hire bodyguards to guard the cast from the actor Sonny Landham because he was a dangerous person.
I don't think this is true because he ran for governor... they wouldn't let a dangerous man do that.

he was dangerous at the time, during the shooting of the film. Maybe he got cured i dunno.
Here's some trivia about The Good The Bad And The Ugly
I shamelessly copied this from IMDb, but in my defense I heard most of these ones before I read it there (I just couldn't find my old source).
The dangers of working on the movie:
Eli Wallach would have been decapitated during the train scene if he had lifted his head up. In the wide-shot, you can see the step that would have impacted his head.
Eli Wallach was almost poisoned on the set after drinking acid used to burn the bags filled with gold coin to make them rip open easier when struck with the spade. The acid had been poured into a lemon soda bottle and Wallach didn't know it. He drank a lot of milk and filmed the scene with a mouth full of sores.
In the scene where the bridge is blown up, and Tuco and Blondie are hunkered down behind sandbags waiting for the explosion, Clint Eastwood's career came within 2 feet of ending prematurely. A fist-sized piece of rock shrapnel from the explosion slams into the sandbag right next to Eastwood's head (watch it in slow motion to see the rock flying in).
Interesting things about the movie:
Ennio Morricone's iconic theme music was designed in places to mimic the sound of crying hyena.
Clint Eastwood wore the same poncho through all three "Man with No Name" movies without replacement or cleaning.
Due to the striking height difference between Clint Eastwood and Eli Wallach of over 9 inches, it was sometimes difficult to include them in the same frame.
My favorite trivia about the movie:
In the gun store, everything Eli Wallach does with the guns is completely unscripted. Eli knew little about the guns, so he was instructed to do whatever he wanted.
[editline]9th July 2011[/editline]
Not mentioned on IMDb is that Tuco's quote in the famous bathtub scene is completely improvised:
I didn't think I was funny in places. People quote to me one line I said all the time: "When you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk." I didn't think it was funny, I think I had just shot a man, and I said, "You wasted your time, I'm going to shoot you." That's all. But for some reason it turned out oddly and people took pleasure out of this thing. - Eli Wallach
While filming The Island of Dr. Moreau, the original director was fired and replaced with John Frankenheimer. The original director decided to camp out in the same forest they were shooting in with a group of hippies and stole a few of the costumes. The director was on set most of the time observing, unbeknownst to the cast and crew. One of the costume guys working for Stan Winston's Studio noted that there was always one guy in a costume that never took off his mask. He'd only just stand there, staring back coldly.
Bill Paxton, the only man who got killed by a predator, an alien and the terminator.
HR Giger proposed to make a whole new design for the Alien in Alien, but the film director refused this offer, telling him that creating a whole new design would be a waste of time and told him to base new designs for aliens on the Necronom IV.
