Then we don't ignore overpopulation, and instead find a solution. Be it killing people off, limiting births, or leaving earth.
And besides, there are still some things that we assume work a certain way (such as magnetism), even though we don't quite understand what it really is.
Contrary to popular belief, and I don't know what idiot spawned the rumor that "we don't know what magnetism is", we DO think we know what causes magnetism. Virtual particles of spin 2 that are created by dipole-dipole interactions of atoms. These virtual particles, unlike others, don't obliterate themselves and are effected by their mass. Hence why they are short range "force particles".

Agnostic is to religion as anarchy is to government. It seems to be a stage between doubting your believe and stopping to believe it all together. I wouldn't call an agnostic dumb though, just confused and ignorant.
This argument can be applied to the wager itself and the notion that god wants us to be virtuous or that he has some eternal reward for us if we're good girls and boys. The wager is invalid.
I say there's a god that will reward you eternally for killing as many people as possible before you die. Are you going to go for it on the off chance that I'm right? Pascal's wager is a weak attempt at justifying a conclusion already made.
Hooray, JonnyMo is here. He can edit some of my posts on theoretical physics that I probably skewed.
I agree. Why should I need to disprove that there's a giant meteor about to kill me if you're the one who brought that idea out of nowhere in the first place?
Agreed.

No.
Agnostic / Gnostic
Atheist / Theist
You have to pick one from both, it doesn't go Atheist / Agnostic / Theist as they both pertain to different things.

Too busy. Left FP.
Aww that sucks.
I sort of miss him in some weird way.

Same. I think he hated me though :frown:
I think he hated everyone.

Logical Fallacies, I think. Would you like some tea with that?

It just seems more of a stage to me, every agnostic I have met was a former christian than later turned atheist. I wasn't trying to imply that all agnostics are like that, just stating how I see it go.
Logical Fallacies, I think. Would you like some tea with that?
Yes yes.
Some of you might be Atheiast, but I'm Pianist. :smug:

It's ok to have fallacies in poetry.
It's ok to have fallacies in poetry.
fallacies are dumb.

Every agnostic you knew didn't know what being an agnostic meant then. Do you believe in a god? Yes = Theist, No = Atheist, there is no middle ground. Do you know if a god exists? Yes = gnostic, No = agnostic.
Of course, to know if a god exists you'd have to have decent evidence for it, thus that makes belief redundant. A lot of people incorrectly use the term agnostic though, or at least use it as a substitute for atheist which is stupid and wastes time in debates like this.
Perhaps the title should be: Why aren't you atheist? I personally can't fathom why people can remain theist after critically examining the idea of god or their other beliefs, but that's just me.

By that definition everyone should be a agnostic, so it's redundant?
Even when you're "agnostic" you're either an atheist or a theist because you either live by the assumption that there is a God or you don't. That's why you call it agnostic atheism and agnostic theism.
By comparison, gnostic atheists claim to know there is no God, and gnostic theists claim to know there is.
You may not claim to know the answer, but you have to assume it based on reasoned thinking, at least by your actions if nothing else, IE praying or not praying.
You weren't?
I was spreading the truth
"Agnostics are just lazy atheists" -Community
I used to be Catholic, then Baptist, then Atheist, then Agnostic, and now I'm back to being Christian.
