It's depressing that modesty isn't considered to be a good quality anymore.
Oh hurr you can throw empty insults around durr damn you really got me with those insults that don't even relate to me oh damn.
It's funny how people bash bullies for insulting people for apparently no reason, then turn around and insult people for no reason. What did that sentence accomplish for you? It sure as hell didn't present an argument or dispute what I said in any logical way. It's just you spouting complete bullshit for no other reason than to fish for zings and/or hope that you "burn" me hard enough to make me stop telling things how they are.
But if thinking of clever insults or whatever helps you sleep at night, good for you.
I've disputed your arguments in a civil manner countless times and you've ignored me. There is literally nothing left for me to do other than take the piss out of each and every post you make.
In case you've forgotten I've told you already that your experiences are not indicative of everyone else's and your only rebuttal to this was "nuh-uh I'm the majority so pbbbbtt".
I've tried. God help me, I've tried. But arguing with you is like arguing with a staircase.
I've tried. God help me, I've tried. But arguing with you is like arguing with a staircase.
To Maverick, your argument is a slinky.
These threads all follow the same formula.
-People attempt to victimize themselves and justify their inability to handle whatever situation they were put in.
-People who have been through something similar but handled it much better tell former people that it's their fault they couldn't handle it.
-First group of people jump on the "You just don't understand what we went through + you're wrong because we say so and we're right because we say so fuck your logical arguments" train.
It's like pricking two people with a needle. One person bawls their eyes out, the other feels the pain but doesn't let it get to them. The person that toughs it out looks to the crybaby and says "It's not that bad, deal with it," and the crybaby goes "OMG YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND PAIN IS DIFFERENT FOR EVERYONE YOU CANNOT FATHOM WHAT I AM GOING THROUGH."
Except you had your eye poked at with a pillow while others had there's ripped out with a rusty soup spoon.
I agree. I'm not trying to justify bullying.
I just think it's outrageous when people try to justify their psychological problems with this stupid concept that anyone exposed to that situation would be the same way. As if there was nothing they could do about it and it's totally normal to have your brain shit itself like that. If you let your life get ruined by something as simple as getting pushed around and called names, you're a mentally weak individual. It got to you because you couldn't handle it, not because it was so intense that anyone would have been broken in the same situation.
So yes, bullying is wrong and yes, some people take it harder than others. However, those people that take it harder than others are the minority and have no business imposing this concept that it wasn't their fault in the slightest that they came out of it with psychological problems. It's like a kid shooting up a school after playing violent video games. Sure, he shouldn't have been exposed to those games and the parents are mostly at fault, but at the same time the kid isn't completely innocent and normal. The kid obviously had some screws loose.
If you shoot up a school because you were bullied, then yeah, bullying might have been the catalyst, but the culprit behind the ordeal is you having screws loose. Screws that were loose the second you were born. Just because you appeared completely normal until you started getting bullied doesn't mean you were completely normal before you got bullied, there could have been plenty of repressed things going on in your head. Putting all of the blame on bullying, claiming it alters completely normal kids with no problems into school shooters and whatnot is outright fucking retarded.
Please show me your psychology qualifications or evidence to back up your bullshit.
I have stood up for and helped people. I'm not telling people who can't handle trivial shit like bullying to suck it, I'm telling them to focus on the real problems (mental problems) instead of shifting blame on to bullies or whatever.

Just because your "bullying" that you experienced was trivial shit doesn't mean all bullying is trivial shit
He was saying the same thing as zeke with the confidence thing btw, you are an armchair psychologist alpha male who knows jack shit and thinks his experience is the same as everybody elses.
How is it bad, confidence makes you look better to everyone, women, employers and in return the bettering of your social life and work life etc makes you feel even better about yourself
The only type of bullying I'll stand up to (as if I see it happen to someone else) is if they've got some mental condition or physical disabilty, something they can't change so don't deserve to be ripped about if it causes them to act differently. Occasionally I'll stand up for other people if I think they've got the potential to get out of the 'weak' cycle else they need to do it themselves.
I think he was saying that over confidence is bad, which it is, but he said it in a very asinine way.

You have no idea what you're talking about. I'm not even going to elaborate any more, but you're really really wrong.
ITT: Overlord MaverickIB proves his omniscience, making it clear that he is everyone.
ITT: bias
ITT: Let's use logical fallacies like ad hominem and instead of refuting statements just question the person's authority to make such statements.
"This food tastes like shit."
"ARE YOU A CHEF YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO SAY WHAT IT TASTES LIKE THEN."
"You're fucking crazy."

Except those two statements apply to one individual item. As in that one bit of food or one individual person.
You are claiming knowledge about a big group and are generalising based on your own weak bullying.
Besides, if I claimed food tasted like fish I could back that up with a wide range of experiences. You are using 1 experience to generalise them all.
ITT: Assumptions that everyone reacts, or should react, roughly the same way to bullying, and the ones that can't take it don't deserve respect or sympathy
Also: Assumptions that words are meaningless
Also: a bunch of people making "ITT:" posts to generalize the thread

Those aren't even close to ad hominem attacks
I was expecting trolling or some case of irony on this thread.
I found it alright...so rich and creamy
Pricks like Maverick and Haloguy need to understand a VERY basic fucking fact: Some people just don't have the ability to stand up, and if they do, they don't have the will to. This is a fucking problem, and sitting here saying they're at fault is a prick thing to do. It's simple as that.

Except You're giving advice about shit you've never experienced which goes against actual facts. So yes, you kinda need to know a thing or two about bullying in order to act like you're some grand connoisseur of anti-bullying.

What ^this^ guy said here pretty much.
yeah, i was bullied as a kid until I learned a lesson in self confidence, one day I just wanted a way out, so I started getting really cocky and trying to take on multiple groups of the kids that were pushing me around, nearly got my ass kicked but I was incredibly lucky to calm down before something serious happened.
developed a fair amount of muscle and took up martial arts, everytime somebody tried to push me around they'd get told to fuck off and if they persisted they got punched/decked
that's all aside the point I was getting at though, my point was simply that I had depending on how you look at it handled bullying alot better than most people, become extroverted (although hopefully not in an arrogant sense) and gained physical strength to over-come this, however, I don't prance around saying that anyone that didn't pull that off is a weakling, or a pussy, infact I stick up for guys that get pushed around on occasion, people need to learn that everybody is different and that whilst somebody may handle a situation such as bullying better than others, there's still a problem.
it's like having a walk bridge that can only support a certain amount of weight, and having all the people that can walk over it without snapping the bridge walk over and shout at the other people for not being able to cross the bridge.
He read correctly.

According to who? You?
That shit is just amazing. I tell you what you experienced wasn't shit and you get all butthurt about it saying I don't know what you went through blah blah blah, but then you turn around and say I haven't experienced anything major despite only touching on it briefly?
I have addressed your points, jesus christ, are you just copy/pasting what I say and using it back on me? Holy shit, what a piece of work you are. How have you addressed anything I have said in any way other than some form of saying "you don't understand" or "you're arrogant?"

I have asked you to back up your claims with evidence a few times
nope haven't seen anything. The fact you turned around and became a bully, as well as your inability to see that bullying is a serious issue tells me your experience was very little.
All you seem to be able to do is claim things over and over without addressing the claims you have no evidence to back it up, then say we are pulling ad hominen attacks.
It's laughable that you say no one is addressing your points, you are the one circling around ours becasue you can't refute it.
Your reading abilities are awesome.
I was a bully as an extremely small child; elementary school. I didn't turn around and become a bully, I turned around and became the victim of bullying. I have constantly said a million fucking times that bullying is an issue that needs to be addressed, holy shit.
Evidence? Really? We're on a fucking internet forum. You haven't provided any evidence of your experiences either, you have just said that there is evidence on record at your school. Where's the evidence that backs up that statement? What says you aren't just bullshitting? Don't ask me for evidence if you can't provide any of your own. I virtually always provide examples that support my claims.
The thing is, you're not providing anything for me to refute. All of your "points" are personally related to me. "YOU this, YOU that." I say something like "Bullying is not solely responsible for people developing problems, they have preexisting conditions that are brought to the surface by bullying," and all you respond with is "hurr you're not a psychologist derp derp." Actually target my claim, god damn. I wouldn't have a problem if you provided some proof that people can go from being 100 percent mentally stable to psychotic individuals because of bullying, but you don't. All you say is that my statements aren't true because I'm not a psychologist. It's stupid.
You insult my reading abilities when you don't realise I am asking for evidence that people who commit suicide or shoot up their schools after being bullied 100% have mental problems beforehand :c00lbert:
burden of proof :c00l:
