When I was living in Alabama, school was cancelled once because there was a possibility ice might be on the road.
Back when I was a wee lad, school would be closed for 2 days for 1 inch of snow. When I moved to Iowa they would only close school for about 12" or more. Even if its -23c with -40c wind chill they'll still stay open.
What's up with America suddenly acting surprised whenever there's snow, and then they have to close everything? It's the same procedure every year.
It ain't. It usually does not snow this much in the South. I'm actually surprised at how little snow Chicago has gotten so far, but I'm very surprised at the snow everywhere else.
We swedes DEAL WITH IT ... with extremely late buses and trains (in the southern part of Sweden at least)
Well we Canadians deal with it by digging tunnels from our igloos directly to our destination. We have a consistent 8' of snow year round.
In Canada when the roads are icy/covered in snow we actually drive faster on them It's much safer to spend less time there Just keep 'er between the fence posts and you're good
A lot of people in the south freak out since they don't get snow. What would they think if i brought down my snowmobiles?
.... It doesn't snow in California. I'm jealous,
