I'm surprised you guys aren't prog rock fans :3:
rock n roll and such [editline]27th March 2011[/editline] you see, I don't get into technicalities really. I say which bands I like. I don't really loop them into a genre. I like the Beatles, Journey, Foreigner, Queen, Boston, Buddy Holly, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Santana, Cobra Starship, the Black Keys, the Bloody Beetroots, Gorillaz, Daft Punk, Infected Mushroom, Tony Sheridan, The Black Eyed Peas, Hadouken!, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, to name a FEW. I don't give a shit what genre they're in tbh.
This is awesome Also, been listening The Kinks a lot, lately.

I found this cover of Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da funny.

Wow, my mother bought a Yellow Submarine for me :buddy: I think it's rare too because it was pretty expensive.
The movie or the soundtrack? They're both fairly common.
I lost my 360 hard drive, so if anyone asks me to play Beatles RB, I can't until I find it.
It's the album, it has PCS 7070 written on it.
I've never listened properly to the beatles before. (obviously i'd heard their more famous songs) But I got Revolver the other day and gave it a listen and it is awesome. Planning to get Sgt. Peppers next, but what would you guys recommend I listen to next?
imo, You should get some of their earlier stuff. Like, 'With The Beatles'. Or you could go straight into 'Abbey Road' its the album that got me into The Beatles
Or you could listen to everything ever and not give a fuCK but really, if you just listened to Revolver, listen to Rubber Soul. Rubber Soul is basically the softer side of Revolver. Tbh, they just should have been opposite sides of the same album.
Everything is good. [editline]29th March 2011[/editline] Except the white album. [editline]29th March 2011[/editline] Okay maybe a few songs.
I love the White Album.
Except the white album.
Overrated but not lacking in brilliance.
Overrated but not lacking in brilliance.
It's got too many songs to possibly be a "masterpiece" imo. A lot of the songs on it are some of my favorites, but then there's a few I rarely ever listen to.

I quite enjoy that experience so I still think it's a great album. Doesn't lose steam at all, even the revolution 9 adds a kick.
Revolution 9 is definitely out there, but I'll still give it a listen when even it comes on.
I listened to the whole thing one time just for the sake of listening to it. Besides that, it's never played. If I wanted to listen to noise, I'd just go outside and listen to nature ambiance.
I love the backside of yellow submarine, pretty nice orchestra music and I love the orchestra version of yellow submarine.
White Album was basically a collection of songs they had left over (as in written but never recorded), wasn't it?
White Album is just them throwing what they can on an album. It lacks clarity, but I still think it's really enjoyable. Tell me one bad song there, honestly. No, suggesting Revolution 9 is just noise is not much of a reason.
Revolution 9 hardly counts as a song, so no, it's not a bad song.
White Album was basically a collection of songs they had left over (as in written but never recorded), wasn't it?
Kinda. It was what they'd written while they were with the Maharishi. (Perfect example is Sexy Sadie, which John wrote back after leaving the Maha's. John was so pissed that he thought the Maha was bullshitting them and then breaking his own rules, the original version of Sexy Sadie was "Maharishi" and was filled with a lot of no-no words. George talked to John in the cab ride to the airport and calmed him down.) Another example would be Dear Prudence, which John wrote after Mia Farrow's sister, Prudence, got a little caught up in the transcendental mediation. She wouldn't leave her room for days, so John wrote Dear Prudence to coax her out. themoreyouknow.jpg
If I ever have to write a paper on The Beatles, I'll just interview you Pedro.
Shout! A little bit louder now!
Shout!
Good song.
I liked the part when they said shout.
I liked the part when The Beatles played.
