Friend got me into them 2 years ago.
You guys got me into them
all my pre teen life i listened to nickelback (it was cool, now i've come too terms with the fact that they're horrible) and then i discovered the foo fighters and started playing guitar, i branched into pink floyd, zeppelin, hendrix, metallica and eventually i discovered the beatles.
So how did you guys come to find The Beatles? 6th grade, music class. I remember my music teacher giveing us a class on them. This should put some life in the thread.
Like 8 years ago haha. I don't remember exactly, but I think I heard it from my uncle's records. [editline]6th April 2011[/editline] Also seeing the Beatnix perform, this might be interesting. [editline]6th April 2011[/editline] Too bad not one of my friends coming are gonna appreciate it as much heh
I was listening to Aerosmith and AC/DC a few years ago, I went to youtube and had Helter skelter in reccomended for you. I listened to it and thought that I needed to check another one of their songs so I got to and I love her. Didn't like it that much at the time so I kept listening to helter skelter and hard days night for a long time untill I saw that they had made a video called hard days night. I saw it and then I started listening for real.
Grew up with them too. Had to really round where I live. Me dad discovered them when he emigrated over and was immediately struck by them - went out and bought some original records and he still has them; won't part with 'em
I'm in love with Hey Jude. It's just so... greatest. Why haven't I heard that before I started to listening to music. The moment I heard the song is the moment it became my favorite The Beatles' single.

I like it, but there are a lot more creative and moving songs than that on their later albums imo. It might be just me, but Hey Jude is overstated. :smith:
School 60's project, I get to do The Beatles :buddy:
I remember music when I actually did it in school, all we did was listen to beatles :v:.

Before hearing The Beatles, we sang Obla-di, Obla-da in school but completely re-written. I'm becoming more and more fond of instrumental and vocal music by The Beatles, especially when Paul McCartney starts the Na na na na na na na na na na, Hey Jude!.

I really think if you listen to Revolver all the way through you'll get a grasp of their true greatness.

Favorite band

or go for the Kinks. I luuuuuuuurve them now. Davies' vocals are so good, and so is his songwriting. Like in Apeman.
I booked a ticket to see the mersey beatles now on Sunday, anyone who live in Europe who has seen them and what did you think of them? I saw on the concert hall where they're playing that they sound better live than the real beatles did, now that is just rude, you shouldn't say that.

Wow fucking "From me to you" has a bunch of quiet sounds in the background that sound similar to the doors in my house and are all off beat. I kept pausing the song to check if someone had walked into my house. And I double checked and I definitely wasn't imagining these things.

I sometimes swear I hear msn and steam chat sounds when I'm listening to certain songs.
What was going on around when Revolver and Rubber Soul being released. I'm really confused with how the transitions faired from early 60s to late 60s. I know Bob was around a lot, but in the UK I'm not so sure.
Rubber Soul was made just after their giant tour of America, so maybe that had something to do with it? Also their trip to India definitely had some effect.
I'm thinking AK'z is talking about the music scene in the mid sixties, but if it matters any, after the Beatles met Bob (Dylan) and he introduced them to marijuana cigerettes they went off the fucking wall with it. John said the Beatles called Rubber Soul the Pot Album and they called Revolver the LSD Album.
Yeah, I'm talking about the music scene.
Hooray, Beatles Rock Band arrived. Why does the back say co-op - 2-6 players? Even if you have 2 guitarists, a bassist, a lyricist and a drummer, that's still only 5 people. [editline]a[/editline] Oh, 3 singers. Badass. By the way, does anyone else's Rock Band guitar controller have a very annoying tendency to 'CLACK' very loudly every time you press the buttons? Or is my controller just really old?
Mine clicks, though my friend with the collectors edition the guitars don't clack.
I never bothered to listen to The Beatles until I listened to "1". Needless to say, I've missed out on a lot. :sigh:
Beatles Rock Band is almost unplayable for me because of my goddamn controller. It hurts my fingers, it's loud as shit, and it will sometimes randomly become unresponsive. It is 3 years old, though, so it has an excuse. Any suggestions for a better guitar? One that is comfortable, quiet, and reliable. Preferably wireless, because the wire on my current one is driving me insane.

My bass has been really sturdy actually. I feel like I'm the only one with a reliable bass lol. It's never given me trouble.
