I really want someone to buy me the Free As a Bird 45 single, One of my favorite Beatles songs.
I thought that would be rare as heck.
I thought that would be rare as heck.
It only came out 10 years ago. :v:
On 28 November, Lennon made a surprise guest appearance at Elton John's Thanksgiving concert at Madison Square Garden, in fulfilment of his promise to join the singer in a live show if "Whatever Gets You Thru the Night"—a song whose commercial potential Lennon had doubted—reached number one. Lennon performed the song along with "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" and "I Saw Her Standing There, which he introduced as "a song by an old estranged fiancee of mine called Paul"
There was reportedly no footage of this, or if there was it was very very rare. Just recently (about 2 months ago) someone uploaded a clip of the show, straight from Super-8 recorder. Unfortunately there is no sound from the clip itself, but there are audio recordings of the songs elsewhere. Lennon enters at 3:40. pretty cooool
Elton John's rendition of Imagine is sublime.
on a scale of one to lucy in the sky with diamonds, how fucking high were they?
on a scale of one to lucy in the sky with diamonds, how fucking high were they?
Not as high as they were in "toot n' a snore". :smugdog:
Paul's "McCartney II" album is released in 3 days as a remastered version.... what's the point it's not even that good, hurry up with the RAM. :colbert:
Strawberry fieeeelds foreveh
Do any of you know beatlejuice?
Not my favorite Tribute Band, though the drummer here, Greg George, used to drum for my favorite one. 1964 The Tribute. The 2 founding members of that band were a part of Revolver in the early 80's before 1964, and 1964 still tours the world playing today, though the guy who played Paul died Dec 13th 2010, shame... anyway Pretty fun Mockumentary, where the guy playing John (Also did Lennon's voice work in Forest Gump) loses himself in his character Skip to 2:20 to see Revolver play I Want To Hold Your Hand Only the guy playing John here, Mark Benson, still plays in the band 1964 The Tribute. About as close to the real thing as you can get
1964 is coming here in September. Last time they were here, I didn't get to see them, so I'm not missing out this time around.
They're still good, but no where near as good as they were when Greg George, Jimmy Pou, Gary Grimes and Mark Benson were together back in the late 90's... I don't know who's all in it now, but Benson is still there, the new Paul is no where NEAR as good as Grimes was, so as far as the sound goes, I would say Fab Four is the new best sounding tribute band. But 1964 is a solid show, almost 30 years playing non stop. Well worth seeing, just don't buy your tickets from Ticketmaster I bought tickets at Ticketmaster for one of their concerts. One of the first to buy tickets for it, months in advance, and I was in the balcony seats, very back row.
dohohooho I'm pretty sure the Fab Four thought I was retarded when I brought these up for them to sign but idgaf.
Ah you lucky bastard. I've yet to see Fab Four in person
I've seen them twice. Going to Vegas in November and seeing them plus the Love show again.
While we're on the subject of Tributes, you should give this guy a glance Gary Gibson as Lennon Skip to 1:18 if you want to get straight to the music. That guy looks more like Lennon than friggin' Lennon
who the fuck is that and where can I meet him and why have I never seen him before and why the fuck does he look so fucking exactly like Lennon holy shit
http://www.garygibsonjohnlennon.co.uk/beatles_mainpage.html More stuff on him, Him in that You're Gonna Lose That Girl video is amazing
Wow he really looks like John in some way, the singing is not as like though.
I think beatlejuice was pretty good. I saw them live 2 months before the lead singer killed himself.

So many beatles tribute bands its crazy.
:psyduck: I gotta meet him.
It's really John Lennon. HE NEVER DIED.
