According to my friends and some strangers, My impersonation of George Harrison is perfect
According to my friends and some strangers, My impersonation of George Harrison is perfect
Audio clip or it didn't happen.
I like how people claim they sound like or look like one of the Beatles and they never do. It's funny.
Are there any overlooked Ringo work that needs to be visited? This for example?
why the fuck did I read your post as "Are there any Ringo-flavored condoms that need to be visited?" [editline]13th June 2011[/editline] nothing in your post looks remotely like condoms
Anyone Heard of Rain, the Beatles tribute band? Are they any good?
Went to a broadway show when I was in New York. $200 dollars a pop, so fairly expensive, but best Beatles tribute act I've ever seen. 11/10.
Excuse me?
That may actually be the band from 'Rain', I'm not entirely sure.
That may actually be the band from 'Rain', I'm not entirely sure.
Uh, no it isn't. That's the Fab Four. Rain is Rain.
Why... why would you do that? :smith:
You know you'd buy Ringo-flavored condoms.
I'd buy them so hard.
Uh, no it isn't. That's the Fab Four. Rain is Rain.
Whatever, Rain was fucking class.
Whatever, Rain was fucking class.
Fab Four is much better.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110614/ap_en_ot/us_music_mccartney I started reading it because it was interesting but suddenly I saw the part where it said he was playing in new york and I couldn't read the rest. I am most definitely going to see this. Last time I checked he was only playing in philly which is starting to get to the far side from Boston.
Confirmed dates for Paul in the US so far are Yankee Stadium - July 16 Comerica Park in Detroit - July 24 Wrigley Field in Chicago - July 31 The Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati - August 4
I wish he would come to Boston again. My friend got to go last time but I didn't manage to get tickets. [editline]14th June 2011[/editline] Wait where did I hear he was playing in philly from then? I wonder why I thought that.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110614/ap_en_ot/us_music_mccartney
I liked his debut, it was Paul through and through because he played almost all instruments. :downs: Not as good as Ram though.
At the time of "McCartney," the author considered it an experimental work.
Makes perfect sense, and it's sequel was pretty much like that too.

Check his site too: http://www.paulmccartney.com/concerts.php
Weren't you going to see that las vegas show 4 days ago?
I was supposed to, but we didn't have the money for it.
Aww :smith:
I wish Paul would come to my town :smith:
I've been reading "Here Comes the Sun: The Spiritual and Musical Journey of George Harrison" by Joshua Greene, it is easily one of my favorite books I have read in quite a while. I really recommend anyone who is somewhat interested in George Harrison or even someone who is simply interested in a journey of spirituality to read this. It's kind of like a biography, but it focuses on spirituality in a broad sense too. Some interesting/funny/sad quotes from the book George thought the Beatles' trip to India to gain some more spirituality was a complete disaster in many ways, although admittedly it was entertaining. This quote is about the Guru asking if Paul had transcended (something that is incredibly difficult and many never truly do).
"Did you transcend?" he asked the others after hours of meditation. "I think I transcended". No one seemed to have achieved blinding enlightenment, and one month into the three month program Paul decided, "This will do me".
Also, the origins of Dear Prudence were revealed to me in the book. I'm sure most of you already know this but it was new to me. Apparently there was a lady named Prudence who was on the same spiritual program that the Beatles were on. She was a recluse and would often stay in her own area for many hours of the day to meditate.
One of these prolonged absences prompted John to pick up his guitar and write and invitation for her to come out. Dear Prudence, he sang, the day is beautiful and so are you. Won't you come out to play?
Paul was talking about touring and doing television appearances again, something that George thought was incredibly emotionally, physically, and spiritually draining
George walked into the room after a lunch break and said "See you 'round the clubs", got into his car and left. "George had to leave because he thought Paul was dominating him," Ringo said, "Well he was".
George returned a few days after quitting, but only because the talks about touring were squashed, Paul never released his grip over Harrison though
In 1974 George was criticized for preaching spiritual messages in his Dark Horse tour. George took the criticizims to heart and did not tour again for 20 years
tl;dr http://www.amazon.com/Here-Comes-Sun-Spiritual-Harrison/dp/0470127805/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1308084758&sr=1-1 buy it
Yeah Dear Prudence was acutually about Mia Farrow's sister who got a little too into transcendental meditation. She wouldn't come out of her room for days and Mia got worrier. That's when everyone's favorite superhero-Beatle John Lennon came to the rescue.

Is And Your Bird Can Sing talking about hinduism right here? "When your prized possessions start to weigh you down, you may be awoken..."
:sigh:
Why? Also it's so funny how paul played drums on dear prudence. I would have never guessed until I read it wherever I did.
