If I have one thing to say about Bob Dylan it's that "Like a Rolling Stone" is not the best song ever made.
If you're referring to Rolling Stones' choices then you're right, they're awfully biased. Sgt Peppers isn't even The Beatles' best let alone best album ever.
Unfortunately, Rolling Stone has just become "What's the most iconic album/singer/songwriter/band etc."
I used to use it about 4 years ago for guidance, then I ditched it for its bias. It's not THAT bad a list because George Harrison is listed as one of the greatest guitarists which is true. Other than that.... meh.
Their greatest singer list makes me cry.
I'm a soul fan but I'm not really into Aretha... she's good but she's not THAT soulful as compared to others.
I have the Rolling Stone 100 Best Beatles Songs issue. Fantastic issue, but other than that, I don't have much interest in the magazine.
Also I don't see why Bob Dylan is there, he has a great voice but singing wise? :v: [editline]27th June 2011[/editline] 64 Axl Rose :raise: [editline]27th June 2011[/editline] 66 Thom Yorke what on earth.
The lack of Billie Holiday on that list is the biggest offense.
She is on that list no? If she isn't then people must be shot. :colbert:
She is not. Kill them all.
Ella Fitzgerald not there. :raise: NO FRANK SINATRA, WHAT THE SHIT.
Any list of the "greatest" will be wrong in some way. If you're listing guitarists by finger skill, I'm sure there are plenty of others better than George, but if you're listing them by other harder-to-analyze characteristics like the "soul" they put into their music, Geroge will be up there near the top. Same goes for albums, songs, bands, etc. [editline]27th June 2011[/editline] Also the fact that they are all baby boomers
Ella Fitzgerald not there. :raise: NO FRANK SINATRA, WHAT THE SHIT.
No Bing either. Fuck Rolling Stone.

I hardly read Rolling Stone for their "Greatest Artists" or "Greatest" anythings now. I just get the mag if they've got something good, like this issue has an interview with Katy Perry and it's got a report on Michelle Bachmann.
Thom Yorke should be higher
He's a good singer. Whether he's great or the greatest is questionable.

what are my eyes seeing

:frog: What.

George Harrison's guy looks like it could just be a recent picture of Dhani Harrison.
They look so alike it's creepy. [editline]28th June 2011[/editline] It's like they're the same person.
It's like they're the same person.
I argue this point a lot. Most people I show this to say they don't look very similar, which is crazy because they look exactly alike. It's the closest thing we'll ever get to George Harrison again.
It's supposed to be if the Beatles were discovered by record companies in today's times. it was on reddit
Anyone listen to any of Dhani's stuff?
Ok, I bought Something Else, Lola v Powerman and the Moneygoround, the Village Green Preservation Society, and The Kinks. I was going to buy Face to Face but they didn't have it. Also I wish I bought Arthur, but while I was there I suddenly got really confused if Arthur was the good one, or Phobia was the good one (and I knew one of those was crap) so I decided not to take the risk. [editline]28th June 2011[/editline] and now I have exhausted my gift card! [editline]28th June 2011[/editline] I haven't really listened to Dhani's stuff, but I enjoyed Beatles Rock Band, and he had a lot of influence on that.
Aww no Arthur. :frown: Oh well, all those other albums are great as well.
Anyone listen to any of Dhani's stuff?
I loved the thenewno2 stuff he's done
I'll probably get Arthur some other time
I got RAM like a week ago and haven't given it a listn.
