Awww yeeeah. Listening to that big Ringo greatest hits they did awhile back, Photograph (The Very Best of Ringo Starr.) I love Ringo so much <3
Friggin' Greatest Hits... get yourself his Beaucoups of Blues and Ringo albums.
Found some guy on youtube, he makes the best McCartney/Beatles/Lennon covers I have heard.

That's nice bro, I saw a copy a while back in a record store but they were asking £30 for it. If I don't end up finding a good copy, I'll just order it on discogs. It's no problem. :v:

There's nothing wrong with greatest hits albums.

pfff, they don't compare to the real thing. :>
Well of course not but if you're just getting into an artist a greatest hits album is a good way to get a feel of what they're like.
that's also true, but unless it's a big box set of stuff then still doesn't compare to a studio record.
if you just have enough money for one album, a greatest hits album is the perfect choice, because you are pretty much guaranteed their best/most famous work.
Sure you could go all out and buy all their albums, but not everyone can do that for all the artists they like

Well I didn't really want to go into a discussion about economy because I don't really consider it an arguement when music is concerned. All that can be said there is commit more to what you spend. :>
The only reason I still only have The Best of Ringo is because I can't find any CD versions of any of his other albums, (besides the Live At The Greek, and other All Starr Band albums). If I could find others, I would buy Beaucoups of Blues or Goodnight Vienna or the Ringo series.
I agree with Hobo, it is a lot better to start off with "Greatest Hits" album. Considering something like I am the Walrus might turn some people away but Let it be or Hey Jude would attract more people. These are just my two cents though.

It just seems like a simple minded way to get into a band.
Think about it this way. Would you rather hear a song like "A Day In The Life" on a greatest hits album or on Sgt' Peppers?
I wasnt into the beatles a while back, and the first proper album I heard was revolver, which changed my mind about them. Everyone already knows most of their greatest hits, it takes a listen of a whole album to convince some people that they are a seriously great band.
Some of my favourites aren't found on greatest hits so it's better to make the effort rather than stick to Taxman and Drive My Car.
of course it's better if you get the full album experience, but you honestly can't do that with every band you sort of like.
sometimes it's just necessary to get the greatest hits.

also my mom bought me the "remembering George Harrison" Life magazine out of the blue today.
going to read it tonight.

Well yeah I'm not arguing that, but you don't seem the type to just think of The Beatles as some other band. :]
Ringo's solo career wasn't quite up to par with the beatles
It is better than the Beatles and you know it.
none of the Beatles solo careers were up to par with what the did as a band (IMO) however, they all still produced amazing music and Ringo is terribly underestimated as a solo artist.

George's solo career was way above par to when he was with the beatle
i'm just saying its understandable to just want a ringo greatest hits album instead of buying all of his albums

I didn't say buy all of his albums.
Beaucoups of Blues is actually underrated.
I just buy whatever the fuck I can find that's in my budget. Greatest Hits or an album I've never heard of. If it's Beatle-related, I'll buy it.

No surprises there. :]
I listened to a few Beach Boys albums today and I'm just surprised at why Beatles didn't do more harmony things later on as a group.
I can only think of this:

well Back In The USSR was directly inspired by the Beach Boys...Paul said he wanted a Beach Boys sounding song.
I'm trying to get the Beatles "album" experience. I listened to Abbey Road first and now I'm on Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. My experience is well.

To get the full experience, listen to all the albums in a row in chronological order to the years they came out

Revolver is my favorite. You should listen to it, great album.
