well Back In The USSR was directly inspired by the Beach Boys...Paul said he wanted a Beach Boys sounding song.
Kind of. I'm thinking they should have got Phil Spector to produce their albums. The echo worked so well with Beach Boys that I think it could have done well here.
sgt peppers was partly inspired by pet sounds, but none of the songs are particularly beach boys-style
Well this is clearly inspired by it. Especially the orchestration.

I think Paul was most fond of Pet Sounds as compared to the other band members, but that's because he's the only one who has talked about it.

I think john was slightly jealous of their harmonies and Paul in awe of pet sounds, but yeah the others weren't really outspoken about the influence of the beach boys.
It's really funny since Brian Wilson was disappointed that The Beatles had gotten to 'the sound' first with Sgt. Pepper, that he and The Beach Boys had been trying to work towards.
6am, cant sleep...
I guess its time to watch Living in the Material World by Martin Scorsese for the third time :v:

I know, but it is an incredible documentary.
Not sure if anyone remembers, but a while ago I asked about a Beatles tribute band called Beatlemania: Magic because they were playing nearby. Ended up going, and just got back, and they were wonderful. Was my first concert, and they did excellent behavioral imitations of each of the Beatles', though their appearances were slightly off - not that it matters, since they played near-flawlessly. They did two segments, the first half being '62-'65 Beatles, the next being '65-'70 Beatles (plus Imagine, because why not). The second half they dressed up in accurate Sgt. Pepper's costumes, which was awesome. My only (non)issue was that the George impersonater sang with a sort of funny articulation, but he never actually missed a note, so I'm just being picky. Plus, he nailed While my Guitar Gently Weeps.
Was a fun first concert.
I was to one concert with a Beatles tribute band, The Mersey Beatles, the George in that band looked nothing like him but wow it sounded almost like him.
I still find Gavin Pring from the Fab Four as the best George

Hey does anyone know what kind of guitar George has in this picture?

thumbd because of size
I have a guitar that I got from my grandmother that she got when she was young, around the beginning of the 60's
and it looks really a lot like this, so much that I think its the same kind of guitar.
The one I have is a Levis, not sure about Georges though.

Okay I just realized that it isn't the same kind, but I still wonder what kind of guitar that is.

Went to a Beatles tribute concert thing at the Hard Rock in Universal Orlando. Front row seats and everything. They played all the songs off The White Album (Including Revolution 9 :v:) and a few of their hits. When they played while my guitar gently weeps I died from them sweet guitars
