Paul Hardcastle's 19. I mean it was at the top of the dance charts in the 80's but the lyrics consists of gems cut from the documentary " Vietnam Requiem" like these:
"From what psychiatrists call
Post-traumatic stress disorder
Many vets complain of alienation, rage, or guilt
Some succumb to suicidal thoughts"
"You're 18 years old and you're wearin' somebody's brains around
Your shirt because they got their heads blown off right next to you
and that's not supposed to effect you. I can never understand.
What would scare me? Is that we were to send a group of eighteen year olds
12.000 miles away and subject them to a year of that obscenity
and have them not be affected. That's what would frighten me."
"When we came back it was different, everybody wants to know
"How'd it happened to those guys over there
There's gotta be something wrong somewhere
We did what we had to do
All we want to do is come home
Was it worth it"
I still can't fathom how people could have danced to this stuff, but I guess that the point of the song, it's pop drum machine and synthesizers can drown out the voices on a dancefloor.
Always makes me shed a tear at the ANZAC day parades and remembrance day parades

This was the song played at my stepdads funeral after he died out of the blue at 50 years old, he was probably the biggest father figure that I had, possibly more than my actual dad who I saw just as much

I don't know what it is about this song but it makes me emotional whenever I listen to it

Used to listen to a playlist on Songza called Ladies Serenading you to Sleep every night when I would sleep, and the first time I heard this song in the playlist (it was a large playlist, so I would usually fall asleep before I would hear this song) was the night my friend committed suicide, and every night after that, I would always wake up to this song playing, and I wouldnt sleep after it. Sometimes, I would be dreaming and I hear the song, and all the memories of my friend and I would play out in my head, then I would wake up completely.

BOC are amazing. That being said, I think the entire Geogaddi album falls much higher on the feels scale, at least for me.
Extremely sad if you watch the whole video

For me, Tomorrow's Harvest is the saddest sounding. But that one song from Campfire Headphase is just so purely sad sounding.

It just sounds so...lonely and empty?
I can't believe this hasn't been posted, this song is literally about suicide. Listen to the lyrics.
