Honestly I think graphics are reaching their peak.
Not at all. We've reached a kind of realism where the first glance might appear similar. But there's still so much more to do. Photorealism is within our grasp, but we aren't there yet. And for stylized [read: "artists realism" not "TF2"] graphics there is still so much more to be done.
The first all-in-one smartphone, it was released in 2007 and I still see them on the street today. And the N900, which is the phone that should've been the N97. First phone to have a PC browser rendering engine (Firefox 3.5's gecko) I've owned both of these, when I put the N95 up for sale one morning, I got a call before lunchtime and sold it in the evening. It's still crazy popular over here, although Nokia discontinued it.

I think graphics are just getting better and better. With nVidia recently releasing their fermis and stuff, crazy shit
Cameras The old camera picture is broken :/ Who knows what we will have in another 10 years maybe a 1TB MicroSD Card ?
Classic cars are sexier than new cars, although newer cars are pretty badass.
:downs: Not even the fanboyiest of the Apple fanboys say that Apple PCs have better hardware than a home built PC.
He meant modern aesthetically, although that's a pretty weird thing to say as well since:
Macbook 2006 Macbook 2010
10 years from now we'll remember this thread
I watched some old family photo albums a while ago from the 80's, it was amazing to realize how shitty tech was back then compared to now.

[editline]10:49PM[/editline]
I dissagree First and only passenger jet that broke the sound barrier :911: Those poor souls in the crash
What about the Tupolev-144 ? Also why :911:, It was designed by a French and a British Company. Only 1 American was on the flight that crashed.
Cell phones are such a massive jump. Every year seems to produce exponentially more advanced technology. The majority of phones now are touch screen enabled tech. Within a few years that's what everything will be.
Unless something else comes out that changes everything.
I don't really see anything overtaking it for a while.
posting now for 10 years into the FUTUREEEEEE [editline]01:00AM[/editline] also, i can't wait for real-life graphics
posting now for 10 years into the FUTUREEEEEE [editline]01:00AM[/editline] also, i can't wait for real-life graphics
Already basically have real-life graphics in games like Crysis with some modifications, Gran Turismo is looking rather realistic as well.
Already basically have real-life graphics in games like Crysis with some modifications, Gran Turismo is looking rather realistic as well.
No, not really. But it is getting darn close, agreed: I'm talking about like full ray-tracing. You won't be able to tell the difference. Fully destructible environment which STAYS like that for the whole game, no disappearing of objects. Fully explorable, more physics and particles blah blah..
I used to have a better picture than that with a Seagate ST-506 5mb hard drive next to a 1gb micro SD card. I should do one showing the Silicon Graphics RE2 Onyx, the then most powerful deskside graphics supercomputer in the world next to your commodity-grade Dell box that can now do triple the performance both computationally and graphically.
If it wasn't for the logos on the signs I wouldn't be able to tell which one was fake.
The trees on the right look funky to me. I'd be able to tell, but only after really looking closely.
Left has more games, old wins
What is this 2006?
It still has more games.
