I live in florida, you have no idea how bad the puertorican honda shitboxes are there. I swear they have like 1" exhausts. they're so fucking raspy and shitty it's unbelievable. yours sounds like a tuned honda should, a nice bassy vtec sound instead of just a louder rasp when it hits
I am well aware
Also looked up some car clubs, turns out I looked up a local Alfa romeo club and they were meeting right when I was looking that up. Took the 75 down there and that was a real good choice.
Met people that had both the experience, parts and wits to work on these cars. They were very impressed with it.

D series single cam motors sound like garbage, their exhaust note gives the bigger B/F/H/K motors a bad rep.
I can confirm this as I own both.
They can sound alright, but usually not.
I suppose it would really depend on how you have your exhaust set up, but it'd likely be more effort and money then whats really worth it.
Unless disposable income/boredom.
I've found that it has a lot to to do with the intake manifold and camshaft in it.
Intake I know for sure. Since my CAI install my beast sounds more monsterly, mostly around 2.5k to nearly 4k RPMs.
I do love it, I just want a bit more bite to go with the bark it has now. Anything major would require tons oh dosh and an ECU, but hondata doesn't make ECUs for the V6.
Or just do a J3.something swap
Well Hello there

I say intake manifold and cams, because this guy has the same engine as my car, but with an aftermarket cam, and a d16y8 intake manifold,
and it sounds REALLY good to me. Nothing like my car sounds like, even with my Intake and
cat/muffler delete.
d17a2 with d16y8 intake manifold, 4-2-1 header, and 'stage 2' crower cam.

My car, d17a2 with stock intake manifold, 4-1 header with no cat, and stock mid pipe with no muffler.

Granny shiftin' not double clutching like I should. I recorded it on a damp road as a reference for when i get my new LSD transmission installed.
Sounds alright to me, it does the trick OK. Not sure how it sounds from afar.
All of that being said, his still doesn't seem much, if any, faster than my car. D17 is such a hopeless engine without boost
Sounds good to me. When I read "granny shifting" i immediately thought of Midnight Club, the first one.
One of the guys you race bitches about it.
At least you have an engine you can boost, I have the V6 which gets no love. Specifically the C27 and even though it has decent power/torque (176/167) it, in 4th gear leaves something to be desired. My neighbor has a buddy that blueprints (and all the bits to make that worth it) engines, maybe I'll try and get him to do some stuff to my engine to give it a bit of pep.

How come all the Honda videos I see, they have a high pitched sound? I mean obviously it has something to do with the exhaust system, but I never hear high pitched Hondas here in Denmark.
This is what my Civic sounded like when I bought it, with my first CAI. Some guy even asked me if it was a fucking V8

It's usually because people just get a big muffler with stock piping, or run an exhaust that's meant to utilize a catalytic converter, and don't run one.

Pretty much. My dad got lucky with his v6 Accord that the stock exhaust actually has a pretty normal sounding exhaust with a bit of a raspy undertone, not the high-pitched after markets that most Hondas have around here that are just annoying.

Nobody can be that... seriously...
Nobody can be that... seriously...
Have you ever been in the outside world? Yes, people can be that stupid.

But not THAT bad...?
Small sub100 cI motors make raspy sounds and sound like tiny motors through big exhausts - there's no mistaking it.... My car got mistaken for a V8 when it had open exhaust but that's a little more reasonable to believe.
We have V6s bigger than most v8s in europe though

I didn't say it makes logical sense, I'm just saying that yes, some people can be that stupid. I had a customer ask me if my Dodge Charger was a Ford or GM car (after telling him I bought a Dodge Charger.)

605 Hemi, yo. (but no, really, that's true. Though, we're now making V6s with V8 powuh from the factory, it only took us a few million dollars!)

And Europe makes i4s with more power than most v8s in America :v:
Hey hey hey, that was the smog era there wasnt much you could do if you were required to have that junk on your engine
Still, the C7 'Vette has a 6.2L V8 that puts out 460HP, while Volvo has a 2.0L 4 banger that puts out 450HP, and sounds mean as fuck doing it:

Why did they design the Volvo to be so out of focus and blurry?
It's just going so fast it's hard for the camera to keep up.
Nobody can be that... seriously...
Yep. A guy on a Ducati bike. We did a little pull and obviously he won, but we stopped at a red light and he said something in the lines of "Sounds sick, is it a V8??"
Then I just laughed and activated my VTEC-Nos and drove 9999 mph into the wall.
3-4 guys from work a few months ago when I still had the E30 thought it sounded a lot like a v8.
shit m30 stumbling over itself.
If I snap the throttle wide open on the jeep on a cold start it'll idle like a cammed out drag car until it evens out after a bit.
Sounds pretty sick.

450HP but still acts so slow and sluggish?
Three turbos for nothing....

Well to be fair the man driving is the human equivalent to a large tortoise.
