If I want to get into modifying my car with different stuff, where would be a good site to start? I wanna see the sorts of things I can do, so I don't really know what my aim is right now.
Saw the car I am getting in town yesterday and I'm gonna be super happy with it. It just looks so good.
A forum for the brand or model of the car? Anyway, congrats, what kind of car?
Shit, I thought this was general discussion thread, my bad.

Nothing? It's brand new, why jepordise your warranty.
Or buy the 2 litre turbo model and some bolt ons, to run 10 sec 1/4 miles.
What the fuck? I'm Chinese-American but I would have told them to fuck off immediately. I also do not know a single person who would ever even think to sit in someone's car without their permission. What a fuck head.
People from Mainland China are generally renown for being assholes and having poor manners, neighboring Taiwan, where my dad's side of the family is from, has people that don't like Mainland Chinese people for that reason and money related things.
Do you speak Chinese? I'd love to understand what they talked about
Since my Chinese is not so great and they have a pretty heavy accent, it was hard to hear what they're saying. I think there are 2 dialects being spoken too, but, I think, the two talking about the car don't use the other dialect so that doesn't matter.
The beginning was, I think, him talking about the mileage? and surprised on how low/high it was.
Around 0:40, his relative was telling him to not drive the car unless the owner lets you.
Right as he gets out of the car at around 0:50, it seems like he is saying, that the car is too low? or that the car is shorter than he is and that he doesn't like it, because of something.
That's what I can make out of it, the rest sounds like gibberish, with all their pronunciations having a heavy emphasis on the Rs.

Yeah I don't know shit about Golf's.
Or avoid the VolkswAAAAAgon all together... that's a cool modification.
My most reliable car of the 10 cars I've owned has been my 43 year old Volkswagen.

That 43 year old wondermobile is a much different animal than what is being produced today. I've dealt with 2 vw's and a Audi and my experience is no thank you electric issues.

I've had one electric issue when the alternator stopped charging because it had worn out brushes. I push started it and drove it an hour home without an alternator with no trouble. The lights were a bit dim when I got home but 20 minutes and $3 later I had a perfectly fine alternator that's worked perfectly since.

See, yours ran without recharging itself on a bad alt. New ones won't run if one of the speakers is not tuned right or the tail light bulb is out.

I.... I ran my Audi with no belt before ~80 miles.... Twice.
Once the bearings in the idler pulley wore out, and the other the AC Compressor bolts fell out....
I don't see your issue here, Only thing I'm aware of a Volkswagen not to run for xyz stupid reason is no DEF fluid on the TDI models that require it, but that's standard across the automotive industry.
what is that?
appears to be a HUD from an 80s shitbox or luxury car, maybe a Cadillac, maybe not.

but why would you put that in an alarm clock?
Could also be an old Yukon hud
I vote 95 ( 1st gen) grand cherokee
You are correct. It is the information display from a 1st gen Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I would buy an early 2000s VW, but only for $500. I've had some fun times testing Komfort Control Modules and then arguing with friends that the pigtails are fucked instead. (Read: Its not usually the modules but your average mechanic would give a dissenting opinion since its less work for him to do)

Those are OEM? Nissan made cool OEM stuff.

Correct! It's that terrible vehicle information center that endlessly displays incorrect error messages out of a Grand Cherokee. Usually it's just a bunch of bulb burnt out messages and that the "coolant level low". I was trying really hard to make a joke against Chrysler because every time I'm ever near one of those they do anything but display the time and display more error messages than a VW or Audi. The best image I could find of it was it made into a clock though :v:

I made a video of my downhill drive of a local canyon road. It's even spoopier at night when it's pitch-black and only your lamps to guide you. Anyone have any cool driving roads/trails where you guys bomb all the time? This is like my practice, setup and testing stage for my car

That's such a badass idea.. next time I'm at a boneyard I'm gonna grab one! It'll be a perfect garage clock.

Oregon is my driving roads, there's so many 1 lane logging/forestry backroads in this state you could probably drive across the country in the same distance to explore them all easily. It gets even more awesome if you have something you can take up the millions of gravel access roads. Only downside is in the winter they are far from maintained and gnarly potholes do exist all year round.
The is one road I frequent a bit though, here's a video of some crazy cyclists flying down it at traffic speeds.

When I get my car sorted out next year I'll borrow a GoPro and run it, always really have meant to.
