No, we're saying it's not drum and bass because it's not drum and bass, well not true drum and bass anyways, it has more of a pop / club sound to it these days.
who cares i like it.
I'm just saying, they're not the same group that I really liked a few years back. When they play live they never do any mixing sets anymore, it's all live on instruments, which is great if you went to see a band play a gig, but in a club or at a rave it's not what you wanna be hearing. Plus they draw in a crowd of emos and greebos and that really brings the mood down because when Pendulum played they all swarmed to the front and just stood there, not even dancing, and fuck knows how half of them got in because they looked about 12, although I'd be a hypocrite complaining about them getting in when I can hardly speak myself :v:
I didn't like any of the DNB songs you linked a while back. Pendulum still have good melodies.
I didn't like any of the DNB songs you linked a while back. Pendulum still have good melodies.
That's because you probably don't like the true drum and bass genre then. I'll do a comparison. Pendulum are to drum and bass what Green Day are to hard rock music. If that makes any sense to you, Pendulum are Drum&Bass-lite. A bit like drum and bass, but without the sugar.
I love tempest, a friend made a loop of the last 2 or so minutes, best bit by far.

I'm sure they're "light" but it's just their individual style, and sometimes it really isn't fair to define a band instead of enjoying it. Besides, it's no D&B Greenday, I think that's a little harsh.
Pendulum are my favourite band, I went to see them on the 3rd of may in Glasgow, and I've ordered my tickets for the next UK tour later in the year. Basically, I liked their old music, but it was looping and becoming repetitive, releasing another album of that stuff would just bore people. The idea of coming into a new mixed genre was a good move and I expect them only to do better and better as they go on. Also, Pendulum actually used to be only 3 people, a "D'n'B group" as said by another user. Three new members including Paul Kodish only joined mid way through last year when they started performing live. Right now my favourite album tune is either Showdown or The Tempest. And my favourite remix is the VIP of Propane Nightmares. Nuff' said? :{D Spotlight: Propane Nightmares (Celldweller Mix)

The verses are alright, they could hold their own, but as soon as the chorus begins it just ruins the song for me.
I forget where I heard of these guys, But Tarantula and Slam are my two favorite songs by them.
I forget where I heard of these guys, But Tarantula and Slam are my two favorite songs by them.
Then you heard it from Motorstorm, I bet. Both of those songs are used in both the games (Slam in 1, Tarantula in the trailer for 2).
The new album was pretty disgusting.
i like pendulum, But it depends if i'm in the mood to listen to them, i can never get over how funny yet vile the Slam video is lol
I love Pendulum, and I love hard DnB. But they're two very, very different things. Like someone said; Green Day to hard rock/punk music. But props to Pendulum for bringing the general idea of DnB to the masses, much like GD did. Hold Your Colour was the best selling DnB album ever, right? The 2007 release's extra songs (the one everyone seems to have) weren't that great compared to '05 though. Too, well, mainstream.
The new album was pretty disgusting.
But I really like it :(
I like it too. Not as good as their previous work but I still like it.
We will drag you from where you are to where you belong!
I'm listening to Midnight Runner right now. Probably my favorite because it's retained most of their original style, even if it does have their overused beat.
Pendulum's awesome.
Pendulum does great music, and Blood Sugar is awesome!
Pendulum does great music, and Blood Sugar is awesome!
I agree, one of my favourite songs. I also really love their remix of Voodoo People by the Prodigy: Pretty damn cool video too.
We will drag you from where you are to where you belong!
The Other Side! I love that song. Listening to their album now, it took a while to get used to it, but the songs are pretty awesome, apart from the singles (which are still really good) I like Showdown, Mutiny,The Other Side. Still got to listen to the album more though, but I do rather like The Tempest, very good finale to the album.
"It's drum and bass, what you gonna do? *BZOOM BZOOM*"
I like them, they are catchy, not much to their music though :/
Everyone who's dissapointed with the new album seems to have the same point: It's not DnB anymore. I agree, but I fucking love it, because it's not DnB anymore. Pendulum were never very good DnB, but they are quite good at being the live rock - DnB fusion that they've got going with the new album.
Well I'm sorry I was expecting DnB from a DnB group, I'll try not to do that next time.
Hey guys, I was at Oxegen at the weekend, and captured this awesome video. Pendulum: Propane Nightmares Hope you enjoy it. And sorry for the bump, but it is relevant, and worthwhile.
I fucking love them!! Hold your color is their best record ever and maybe the best record ever made!! Pendulum forever!! [/wohoo]
I love Pendulum, pretty much all there is.
Well I love it too but it's not something I can constantly listen too, I need breaks.
