!STORY! this is the moment these two cars almost crashed into each other, one was drifting up the turn and one was drifting down, and the both slid to a stop like that, no touch.

I went to South Africa a few years back and it was raining torrentially on my way to the airport. Since Johannesburg seldom see's rain it's inhabitants really don't know how to handle themselves when it rains, especially when its really heavy. Pretty much every driver had their hazard lights on and were driving really slow, swerving a bit too. Sounds like a similar situation over there in LA.

there was a light sprinkle here (and i mean like 5 minutes of rain) and i saw a car that totaled itself against a concrete wall on the highway, no other cars involved at all

Very good expressive shot, for that angle I think it's very well done. You captured enough context to show why there would be excitement, but still have the shot being about the girl. I don't think it's too sharp, but I would up the white balance just a little to be warmer, I think it would fit the mood a little better.
