one problem with digital viewfinder, i couldn't see anything in the dark, so these were basically shot from the hip. I was very lucky with that 2nd pic

The reflective floors, the pristine walls, the utilitarian lighting. Doctors in scrubs pass me, wheeling off patients with nurses holding IV bags. I catch brief glimpses into the Post-OP wards, and I wince. I know what it's like to be in there, It's.. Uncommon to remember the operating room itself. And I only remember one out of the many times I've gone under the knife.
I struggled to stay awake despite the doctors telling me to count down from 10, I'm having second thoughts about the whole surgery. "These guys were going to break my jaw on purpose to fix it again" was the phrase I screamed in my mind. The whole thing suddenly seemed unnecessary and I reached for the bars on the sides of my OR bed, trying to get up. Some hands held me in place and I heard talking - not any particular words, just talking, and it sounds tense. My last thoughts as I finally succumbed to the drugs were of home.
And that's not even my worst experience with surgical procedures. Hospitals give me a lot of anxiety.

ye, i got a 2.37:1 aspect monitor recently and it's made me want to start using the aspect for my photos more often

I quite like the first one, especially the break in the line of light on the right, I also like how you write, it kinda felt like a Max Payne narration, at least I read it in his voice but maybe it's just me.

Thanks! It was a white wine carton, it was on top of a tree, somebody probably had some fun before it ended up there.

This is the first time I've been in a hospital for an extended stay where I wasn't the patient. It's my Dad this time, I wrote about one of the times I was checked in. My Dad's doing well now but he told me "I understand now what it was like for you" so I get the feeling he had some rough nights when I wasn't at the hospital with him.

i absolutely hate being in hospitals and also get super anxious when in one even when i'm not there for myself but just visiting, but at the same time everything about hospitals, the look and smell and feel and the patients and doctors and everything, fascinates me to no end, and i think your photos especially #1 and #2 really directly remind me of that fascination
