Great B&W photos Thaard, nice and contrasty. But I don't really understand what's going on with the last 2 colour pics. The skies are nicely exposed but the attractions are very dark, almost silhouette like with the last. Did you edit them like this on purpose or was the lighting just too harsh?
They were like this, since the sun is right behind the carousel. because i thought it looked better flipped cos photos read left 2 right and better to lead eye out of pic with nothing rather than have it search of subject [editline]18th May 2014[/editline] do u think it looks better not flipped
because i thought it looked better flipped cos photos read left 2 right and better to lead eye out of pic with nothing rather than have it search of subject
holy shit i was going to post about images being read left to right but i thought i may be thinking too deeply into it. My idea was that this image is split into content and context, the content being the people and the context being the railway line. I think its better to read content before context first so thats why you flipped it.
what about now:
I for one think it looks much better flipped. Otherwise you get lost in the empty space to the left (as in the side with the 3/4 sign).

20th time out taking photos this year, breaking records! I've taken photos more in this 5 months than I did in the last 2/3 years. Loving the first 4. A lot.
i feel like they're a little cramped composition wise [editline]19th May 2014[/editline] definitely promising stuff though
i feel like they're a little cramped composition wise [editline]19th May 2014[/editline] definitely promising stuff though
I guess it has to do with me liking longer focal lengths and not having too much stuff in the photos, I will have to try using something wider sometime, I think I'm getting a bit too comfortable using the same focal length over and over.

I keep seeing these really great summer photos and I get anxious to posting my own. Then I see THOSE ^ and it keeps me grounded. I like it. So, here's a silly-er photo :v: [img_thumb]http://imgur.com/9o3FPB6.jpg[/img_thumb]
Older picture I've been a bit ambivalent about, since I shot it with the wrong aperture. I like the feel of it though. Love that second photo, the portrait of Ed. Really nice man, the third photo is p dope too - getting Desuh vibes
I just had a massive favouriting spree on your flickr haha
?
Just impressed by how that photo looked man, it's really a great picture.
Love that second photo, the portrait of Ed. The poles were entirely unintentional, but looking back at the photo it did remind me of that one church photo of Desuh's so I decided to post it haha

And yeah thats the photo I was thinking about!
Pedestrians still technically have the right of way in the US, but it is a crime in some places (Jaywalking, and enforced where I live). It's not like you can hit a person crossing the street and not get in legal trouble though. It's mostly difficult me because I haven't gotten used to the cars being on the left side, and the streets are so confusing

giving me hope yeeeeeeeee
By the time you leave you'll be so accustomed to cars being on the left that you'll have the same issue back home hahaha
