this is cc. we aren't attacking you at all, you're just acting defensive for some reason
Mmm-hmm. Okay. Yup. Alright. Despite you guys basically calling me a moron for keeping my ISO at 100.
Who said I wanted help? I just want some cc on my images
Everytime someone posts cc you pull out some excuses, idk man
"attacking" someone when they do a stupid thing to make them stop doing the thing is cc
Everytime someone posts cc you pull out some excuses, idk man
Okay, okay, next time someone posts some criticism, I won't defend as to why I made that choice artistically, I'll just sit back and take the piss. :suicide:

Thanks for calling me stupid, dude.
This discussion is pointless and derailing the purpose of this thread. If anyone wants this to be continued, please take it to the off topic discussion or even PM's. There's a right and wrong way to approach CC, and it's not being displayed here. Regardless if the advice is good or not you still need to be considerate about how you present it.
Blarg, if you PM me your raw files and settings you used in Lightroom I can help you get them to be a little brighter without altering the look you are going for. If you don't want to change your editing, then just keep doing what you want and don't worry about what other people are saying. Shoot for you, not for others.
Who said I wanted help? I just want some cc on my images, not to be attacked for slightly underexposing an image, or shadow-clipping. It's a wonder why I'm so secretive...

What should I post?
Post images you've shot, and expect:

You did. I am under the impression that we're all here with a goal to share and improve. Criticism is a part of that. Right now we're simply telling you that sticking to ISO 100 is not a brilliant idea. It is akin to using only one shutter speed. Right now, you're being unreasonable, because you've been constructively criticized. You obviously want to improve, so I really don't see what the big deal is.

Alright.
Your shallow depth of field makes your images look murky esp on the band photo
Using one ISO and only one ISO is odd and self limiting for no particular reason
Your shots - for being shot at a wide open aperture in a decent lighting condition - are ridiculously underexposed
I find it difficult to believe you've been doing this for five years as you keep claiming to be completely honest. Maybe it would be better for you if you started over and tried to relearn some stuff. Watch videos on composition, find a photographer you really like and try and emulate what they do. Whenever i'm in a rut I use one of those /p/ rolling images to find something for myself to take a picture of. Read on photography theory, etc.
If you have been at this for five years then - and this is going to sound really harsh, but I'd rather be real than coddle you - it doesn't look like it.
But I also think if you're willing to defend your images so much then you believe you have potential for better things. Use your passion and pour into the stuff I said above and take time to learn the technical details as well as the creative ones.

Never EVER say "emulate what they do". Never. That is precisely what I have been trying to do for the past year. Oh, guess what? IT DIDN'T WORK. People tell beginners to try this. It never works and just inhibits their creative freedom. Why can't I try what I want to try? Oh, right, because we're supposed to be sheep and follow in one direction. Sounds like great fun to me! Expect severely, severely, manipulated images in the near future, because I am "emulating what they're doing".
EDIT:Okay, I'll stop now, I've said what I needed to.
i don't have much to say critique wise, unfortunately, and i don't know how to respond in regards to anything anyone else has said in here, but i do have to say this.
if you post avant garde photos in here and ask for critique, don't expect positive feedback. it might work or it might not, we might love it or we might just not understand you. but the import part is to not expect positive feedback.
now here are some mediocre photos to get things moving again!

Sorry for being a crabby asshole earlier. Had a fight with my bf and needed to vent my anger. Anyway, I took a photo of friend doing what she does best. :)

EDIT: I may also be bipolar. Never diagnosed, though. I just sometimes go from zero to one hundred in a matter of seconds. :/
So... You want them to look bad?
Clipping the shadows is what most of the guys in here who get good comments on their pics do. We invented the term Bopification for a reason.

I really really like this picture. It's like the perfect family picture in terms of tech, moment and composition.

I like this photo, but i have a weird suggestion. What if the gun made a right angle with the edge of the frame? Would it mess it up, would he look like he was tilting forward too much?
