it's not really criticizing, his point is more or less that you should be editing your digital files. editing is very important in a digital workflow, and if you are going to post the picture then it's a good idea to take the time to edit it and get more practice.
not editing is disregarding one of the biggest advantages of digital photography, which is the extreme malleability of files.

i know. i realize that. and usually I do. trust me. you guys have taught me a lot in the past and given me plenty of advice before. sometimes I just think there are some things that are so pretty without being edited though. but yeah, i know. thanks for putting up with my misunderstand guys -_- sorry.

definitely the first, much better visibility - i personally would darken the shadows a shade in the first one to increase contrast and make the subject pop but honestly it's personal preference
No worries mate! In this case I like the first better, but I think a little bit more contrast would help out (mostly just a little darker blacks). The pinks look very nice brightened up.

it's up to personal taste, post what you want to post ~ just know that digital raw files are extremely flexible so don't let that potential for expression go to waste :)

Picture of the Olympus setup I bought today. Never too sure on how to make gear photos look aesthetically pleasing, so I tried to take a decent photo first and the gear be more secondary

If this is 35mm then why not just take your film to Walgreens or something and get it scanned? If it's not then you have a DSLR, right? Do one of those jury-rigged film scanners?

I tried the DSLR thing. I didn't have all the necessary supplies. :/
i wouldn't recommend posting until you get your scanner sorted.

does anyone else have a problem with having twitchy trigger fingers? when i get home and open up my files i get super overwhelmed at the amount of pictures i take....
recently got a film camera tho, so hopefully i get conditioned to take less extra/unnecessary shots

I'd only publish your best shots rather than using this thread as a photo dump, it'll make your portfolio look more impressive too.
I guess I just like to show off, haha. I mainly post to Flickr so my friends can download high-res versions of shots if they need to/want to.
