I feel absolutely fucking terrible
I was waiting at the window with my camera watching starlings feeding, waiting for goldfinches
I leant over to my computer to click a link someone sent me, heard loud wing beating, looked back and there was a kestrel standing there in the pouring rain with his wings spread, clutching a struggling baby starling in his talons
naturally by the time I had grabbed my camera and raised it, he had flown away with it, probably to feed young
this happened 5 feet from me on a nice natural looking perch with a clean, green background and awesome lighting
the fucking drama of that image is stuck in my head and my heart is pounding, and I missed capturing it for nothing

A shy, rare (relatively), colourful and wild bird of prey killing something and posing perfectly 5 feet from my lens? I bloody hope so but seriously doubt it.
I see these guys sometimes hovering over meadows looking for mice etc, but they are well out of reach of my 70-300 and will just fly away if you get within a hundred meters or so
i kow that feel, had one of those moments in Berlin when a wheelchair bound person was lifted up by a group of young adults and carried up the staircase because there was no elevator. To this day I regret not slapping on my kit-lens on my digital because the 50mm was too narrow and couldn't capture the ambience.
don't worry one day a similar situation will happen and you'll capture it for sure.

Once a minute, but when I compiled it, it looked extremely fast so I slowed it down to 75% speed. The actual full video is 15 seconds long

I was on my board while taking this pic, haha. Ended up just turning out on a road because i was too scared too fall and break my camera
Photos seem sharper than the actual photos on LR
yeah, flickr sharpens up the scaled down versions. the original is the exact same but i don't advise posting that

It took me a while to get these somewhat usable, I'm really dissapointed in the scans I got back. I usually just go to Walgreens and drop film off, but this time they took a week to get my scans done and more than half of them look like this:

Anyone recommend any good, cheap labs to send C-41 stuff to? Medium format developing would be a plus.
