My weakness is night photography and fog
ISO400-800, f1.8-f4, 1/10-1/100 and being in a lighted area should yield you some results for night photography if you don't have a tripod

First one is solid but boring (not especially relative to the others), 2nd one has a mildly interesting subject but poor composition, and, no offense, but the third one is not good at all. Poor quality, fedora subject, below average composition. You've surely made an effort but I would suggest not only posting this in the cellphone specific thread, but also taking a second look at what you've posted and reconsidering whether they're especially worth posting. I'm really sorry if that comes across as incredibly mean but the photos are just very bland.
Wow, thanks for a really useful reply, and nothing mean, everything is as it is, im no photographer and i know it (same what my dad would say, your probably an artist too)

The street and the river are easily the best ones.
Filters are not your friend. Photoshop Lens Flare is your sworn enemy. Pseudo HDR is why I can't sleep at night.

That's why people say filters are not your friend. While they are fun and sometimes nice to look at they tend to lead people to prioritize looks over content and that's quite boring to anyone who wants to see more than "pretty pictures". So I'd say drop the filters and take advantage of what you have at hand, it's water and shockproof, maybe go out in total rain and thunder or take it to a biking trip and do some cool long shutter pics to show the speed, it's up to you.

You have to be subtle - very rarely can the effect hold the whole picture. HDR itself has its uses. The Solitude of the Fisherman by DanielKHC, on Flickr When you're using HDR, the goal should be to achieve clarity and detail in both highlights and shadows, giving that surreal and almost unrealistic property to the colours. Going by that process, you're taking one well exposed photo, one severely overexposed photo and one bland gray photo. In result, instead of supplementing the highlights with detail and the shadows with contrast, you've made the highlights into an overly contrasted bunch of pixels. After the editing, adding effectively bloom on the highlights, has only made it even harder to look at. Now, on your photos themselves. I already said what I think about filters. Editing pictures is fine, but again, you have to be subtle. If you're adamant about having the lens flare in the first photo (I'd say, just don't do it, but if you still want to), at least get a lens flare render on a black background and overlay it on your photo. In the second photo, the filters have again ruined the clarity of the photo. The filters have blurred the picture almost as much as the blur in the foreground. The geometric thing in the third photo is pretty cool. The motion blur just ruins it though. Why remove clarity from the photo and blur it? Fourth: Why replace the sky? I'm sure it was gloomy enough seeing as how everything's wet, so why put that cloud there? (it's over the lamp too) Fifth and sixth are just confusing me The train one looks pretty nice, I like it. Photo of the river is really good! What are the white spots though? The last one is a bit too busy for me and the white highlights don't help. That's my two cents - I'm an amateur so take it with a grain of salt if you want to.
