The subjects are certainly 'interesting' enough, but the image quality, composition etc aren't the best. The first indoor shot particularly, it's a bland backdrop and grainy and blurry, so it's pretty hard to reconcile even if the guy is arguably interesting as a subject. Still, I wouldn't worry about it too much as long as you're looking to improve. The guys in the thread are super smart about their stuff as long as you're willing to listen. I'm a horrible, boring photographer, pretty sure everyone hates me because I'm an annoying debbie downer, and I still post here anyway when I actually get the chance to do some photos. You wouldn't have happened to have taken these on a phone though, would you? If so there's a specific thread for phone-camera stuff.

Thanks, I would like to know how to resize for thumb nails, also I'm using a very basic dslr which doesn't even have a removable lens, so thanks for not grilling my ass on the quality.
Man all these pics are really nice.
I'm envious

I generally post with the longest edge at 800px which I think is a good size that doesn't require thumbnail, if you upload to a flickr account you can choose what size the images will display when embedded. I personally use lightroom and photoshop and just resize when exporting images. Uploading to imgur to host your images will also let you resize your images after upload IIRC.
Otherwise on this forum just use [t] tags instead of [img] for a short term fix.

To the previous three posters;
There's so little content to your pictures, could you guys tell me as the creator of these images, what is interesting about them to you? Why do you think these images are interesting to other people?

It's something that I can't see with my own eyes with that degree of detail. I've always enjoyed photographs that reveal things I wouldn't otherwise be able to see quite the same way.

Another trip to the harbour today, Only bought my Kit Lens (18-55mm) with me.
(anyone got any tips for Night photography, such as settings? I have a tripod but I'd much rather just walking about taking shots instead of carrying it with me.)

I like the division between the sky and that thing whatever it is, and it makes a quite nice desktop for my computer.
Stuff can be very subjective

like really, people always say that when they get cc and it's pretty pointless.

If you wanna take pictures in the dark without tripods you should have a camera with a sensor that can go to very high ISOs without fucking up the image quality. Wouldn't worry about 'walking around taking shots' unless I'd be taking pictures of people and stuff that's dynamic.
Although if you have a lot of grain in your image, you could resize it quite a bit and it wouldn't matter since a lot of raw images are massive in resolution
