Can someone critique my first photo?

The first thing you I think you should know about this thread is that, with the strange exception of this page, pet photos are generally discouraged and scorned, or at the very least ignored. Most members of the thread will generally advocate for going out of your comfort zone, leaving your house and front garden, and making sure your subjects are captivating or at least mildly interesting. Dogs are great, seems like a lovely fellow, but dogs are one of the most common subjects in amateur photography, along with flowers and insects, that sort of thing. You don't have to feel bad about it or anything, but it's something to consider at the very least. It's worth a mention that we do have a thread specifically for pet photos to boot.
As for the actual photo, I generally have pretty disagreeable opinions so I'll let someone else evaluate the quality of it, if anyone is so inclined.

Still getting familiar with the camera, and photography settings in general. I have no problem going out there and taking pics, just trying to understand things first ^_^

I wouldn't say it's bad, but I feel like it's more of a facebook "check out my dog" type of photo.
That being said, take photos of whatever pleases you. There are no rules, and you don't have to aim to please anyone.

Got a chance to photograph the interior of the chapel in my town that dates back to about the 1700s. Really fascinating. :)

Snapped a pic of the ISS chasing the european ATV (the faint line to the right of the bright line) over poland. There's a lot of light pollution here, but it still came out alright.
