I've been loving the hell out of these film shots you've been posting.
Went on my first photo walk with a human subject today. It was definitely a new experience.
But then she opened up.

It's slightly tilted and I think you didn't correct for your lens.
I'm not entirely sure if this qualifies as 'creative' photography? But I took the new lens up to the rooftop of the building I work in (it's the tallest one on the coast where I am thankfully) and tried some long exposures on manual settings, which is something I don't really have any experience with. Most turned out ok, a fair few I must have moved slightly - I had no tripod so this was all freehanded or me propped up against objects haha. I was pretty happy with the turnout overall though. Oh and some of you might recognise the location from some shots I posted recently too, only now it's at night!;

And for the hell of it I pulled out the ol' 600mm telephoto and snapped a shot of the moon, VERY hard on a lens that size with no tripod!;

Had a lot of fun with these :)

I also forgot to remove small specks of dust from the scan, retouch the grains and shot at a slow shutter speed etc. etc.
It's film, it's got imperfections just like you and me

not being derisory to suzanna zak at all, but celebrating the work here
Wow, that one is pretty great. How did you take that/what equipment did you use?
I just propped myself against a ledge (pretty scary drop mind you, feared I'd lose my camera haha) and took the shot. The EXIF is still intact, I just checked and that was an 8sec exposure - there was a slight hint of movement but it's not bad. Everything was basically shot free handed or propped against a wall or something... I need a new tripod badly since my old one self destructed.
Camera was a D70s, and the lens is my new 18-55mm Nikon EDII - in other words, nothing special!

I'll be there in a few weeks, any spots you'd recommend? Probably only going to get a day there.
Tried some more car photography for practicing, shame it was overcast though, really not a fan of overcast days for photography. Been asked to do pictures for a car club in Perth (After they saw pictures of the other race I did), I get to go into areas that normal spectators don't get to go to.

CC please? Trying to get far better at this kind of photography.
don't crop to awkward aspect ratios and try new things with colour. not mindblowing, but really play with the HSL sliders to see if you can create looks you enjoy, bring the greens out, etc. look at examples of 'stylish' images but don't fall into the trap of doing one size fits all adjustment or just clipping the shadows or even slamming the sat slider up and getting awful yellow whites and shit
[editline]9th September 2014[/editline]
on overcast days: i love and hate. love because i can almost always get proper exposure, hate because the sky is almost always blown out.
i like overcast, makes colours pop

Yosemite Falls
the thing about yosemite tho is that everywhere you look is amazing, its so dense with beauty.
I don't think it gets much water during September-October unfortunately.
