First experience especially of taking pictures of the general public, its a bit nerving but you get used to it really.

It's on fire right now but it'll probably be fine by the time you get there. You should visit Glacier point, then hike the Sentinel Dome/Taft Point trail loop. It was like 6 miles in 4 hours for my team.

yeah it was pretty hot, I just got close enough until I can feel it really starting to burn my hand.

Had my UV filter on just so the ashes wouldnt screw up my lens.

You will get it at some point, Im still not too clued up on Manual mode but now im pretty comfortable using it.

Do what I done, just go out and shoot with your automatic settings, my first post on this thread with my own content was pretty much by pointing and clicking, at least then it gives you an idea on what you [B]like [/B]shooting

I feel like the difficulty of manual mode is overrated.
Aperture triangle, ISO causes noise, aperture affects DOF, long / short shutter speed affects how motion looks.

That's pretty much it.

Yeah I think some people do go a little overboad with explaining it sometimes, most DSLR's have live view mode so if you ever want to really play around with the settings you can do, for me it was just about playing around with settings...
