Figured how to remove this shitty background business, use this link:
http://www.google.com/webhp
I set that as my homepage :v:
On my post, see in the bottom left corner you CAN remove it.
What is the point, I do not understand.
I've never spent more than thirty seconds on the Google page, most of my searching is done with the Firefox integrated search functions.

no, that resets it back to one of their default backgrounds
I already use it. Its pretty.
I hate the default images, and I don't have any good images of my own.
Doesn't work for me, 800x600 pic and it's a PNG and yet it says it's too big...
This is old news.
They forced this *feature* down my throat today. What's the freaking point?
You can't do it in opera. Fuck google.
This is total shit, I want a normal white page with the standard logo!
Had to make a 100% white picture just to get Google to look kinda like how it used to look.
Thank you Google for this useless feature.
There's an all white one under Editors Picks

Use them to avoid it.
Or for Chrome users:

That doesn't remove it, actually. It is not able to be disabled. Hence my above post with alternative links.
