For your very first city, does anyone actually plan that shit out so everything is nice and neat? I mean unless I make miles long stretches of road into the wastes I have too many resources clustered together and thus have had to make all kinds of structures next to each other. Future cities won't have the problem of acquiring resources as I go so they can be planned accordingly, but it really does bother me when I look at my city to see houses scattered about with no central housing district.

How the hell
For me, the best way to get over fear of public speaking is to make sure you are the expert in the room. Know the subject you're talking about inside and out, and thoroughly study and prepare for whatever you are presenting. If you know more than anyone else in the room, that gives you control of the situation, which therefore enhances your self-confidence. The only times I've ever fallen apart when speaking to a group is when I half-ass things and show up unprepared.
Also, I prefer to speak from an outline, not a word-for-word speech. Nobody likes someone who stares at a piece of paper and recites it in monotone. Use an outline to keep yourself on track, and speak the way you naturally do. It keeps you looking at the audience instead of at your notes, and keeps people more engaged. Notice how TED speakers talk naturally and mantain eye contact with the audience, instead of reading off a podium? That's what you want.
It helps if you're playing on a Gmod RP server, since no one cares and there are little kids who sound like they just inhaled a shitton of helium. You just gotta go on with a friend a mess with people (do it on a server you'd like to stay unbanned on though.) and just say weird stuff
Just keep in mind if you are a kid with a somewhat high voice you will almost always be made fun of by somebody in a game but dont take their comments about you into any consideration because those people that have that low standards to yell at a kid on the mic its because it makes them feel better about themselves and makes them feel higher and better than you.

If you're worried about that stuff..
Go on Omegle and just let random people talk to you. Who gives a shit if you'll never see them again. Who knows, if you open up a bit, you might make a friend. Don't count on that on Omegle, though.

I was always afraid my voice was high pitched and people would give me shit about sounding like a kid, instead they said I sounded like a 40 year old chain smoker.
i rather kill myself rather then hearing my own voice
I did interviews and shit on livestreams that had hundreds of people I'm sure its nothing compared to what some people have done on this website but I guess some key things you want to remember is just to keep calm and be yourself. Nobody is going to really give a fuck about your voice as long as you have something important to say.
sometime I like to drink a cold glass of milk before I use my mic
trust me it helps

Dude, you only have to cup your hands around your ears..
I don't have a problem with the way my voice sounds. My issue was nerves. I recorded the video and it's over with :)
My problem was I used to have a mic that would somehow sound different every time I played a game.
One day I'd apparently have the sexiest voice in the server, and the next day I'm 10 and getting ganged up on. The day after that I'm a pedophile.
I don't have problems talking with other russian-speaking people(friend's friend for example), but I really cannot speak english on mic. English is not my native language so I think nobody will understand and I will talk shit. Also I moved to London so this is my main probem right now. :v:

That's actually a fair point.
But a lot of times, people who didn't learn English as their native language will say things, then say something to the effect of "English is not my first language", to which I can easily say something like "It's OK, we understand the general idea of what you're saying".
And this post is actually pretty damn good English, so I'm going to have to encourage you to speak more English, because you're better than you think.

Well, college will be starting pretty much in a week, so I'll have to speak a lot.
Everybody who hears me over a mic thinks that i am like 40 :sad downs:
Imagine your sociability as a feather, and as you enter a server the feather's dropped.
Whenever you speak, the feather gets blown into the air, and whenever you don't, it slowly falls.
If you don't say anything when you join, or in the near future, the feather hits the ground, and it becomes awkward and full of anxiety for "how2start topic", however..
If you join the server, and instantly throw any comment, even a ridiculously dumb one like a classic "Evening ladies" or "Boom, guess who stepped in the room", the feather won't reach the floor instantly.
Now, if you're on a server with other microphone socials, then you'll be greeted. Doesn't matter if it's positive or negative, try to keep your feather flying with a comeback.
It may end in a rage war and a permaban, or it may end as a beginning for you to overcome your anxiety.
From there, it's really about basic social skills, or how to keep a conversation going. Rather than ending your conclusion with a statement, try to ask a question.
Surely all of you knows that asking a question doesn't necessarily end the conversation, or am I off track?
man the fuck up pussy
Just be yourself to be honest,
I used to be like that also but just start talking a little, when you get more comfortable just talk with no worries,
Just try not to mic spam!
Some people will like you some won't, Thats life buddy.
Just be a complete douche bag over the mic in a co-op game when people are playing seriously, relish in their hatred of you and use it to power your shit talking abilities, don't stop even when the administrator is present, use that fear of the ban hammer to truly bring out the terror in your words, bring up their broken childhood or their abusive parents, even an unwanted sexual encounter with a pedophile when they were children. Make them cry and when you can hear them wimp and sulk then you know you've asserted your dominance and should hopefully be able to speak to strangers without anxiety.
I dont speak on a mic in game because i cant speak english properly.
add lots of reverb and your lungs will appear bigger to the listener
growl like a bear or angry dog and maybe foam at the mouth too
this will coincidentally help get you ladies

I can kind of speak english well but some words come out really strange. I remember saying "He's in the, uh, um, cafeteria" in Zombie Panic! Source some years ago and my way of saying "cafeteria" launched and hour-long discussion in the server with the topic being "What kind of fucking accent is that?" :v:

Also I have a problem with my voice being a mix of eternal voice break and a stereotypical gay voice.
I'm 24 and not gay.
I try to get over everything and be as kind as I can no matter how dire the circumstance.
I talked with my best friend from the internets my first time after 2 years of not talking
and we just kept talking and now im fine with talking to other people
Funny how this is the exact opposite with most people.
Well he's lucky it isn't the other way around.
Have a competition to see who can say aaaaaaaaa the longest.
TTT admins were always jelly cause I would win.
Don wory bout a thing, these people are just like you, if they're jackasses, fuck em. Don't be afraid that they won't like ya. Eveyone gets muted by someone, it's part of the game. Just have fun, talk an meet peeps. You're just gonna have to learn to deal with the antisocial mic kids sometimes. And remember, never join a Quebec server and use your mic. You will be banned, instantly, if they find any trace of english
Make da video like it was for you or your friends. Trolls an hoes might try an mock ya, but most people don't give a shit bout yer voice as long as the words it says are important
fart real loud down the microphone
like really loud
burst their eardrums
