Getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow.

Just keep biting on the gauze and don't move it around too much. The bleeding will stop in a day or two, don't worry you will be fine.
I remember when I was put out I said goodbye to the doctor because they had me on laughing gas and I got really loopy.
When I was coming to again, everything was totally black like I was floating in space, but I could hear voices all around me. Then suddenly I could see a beige mass with a white square in front of me. My vision become less and less blurry and I soon discovered I was staring at a beige wall with a white light switch in the middle of it. Then they wheeled me out to the car in a wheelchair where I threw up, then drove home, took some hydrocodone and slept for 6 hours. Upon waking up I felt fine and just kept taking pain meds for two weeks until I was better.
Also, once the bleeding and pain stops you will have lots of fun poking at the empty holes in your mouth with your tongue. Avoid doing this except to keep food from collecting in the holes.
OP, I just sent you a really long PM with a whole mess of helpful info to take care of your mouth. I had all 4 of mine taken out only a few weeks ago and it totally sucked. Take care of your shit, this will only help the healing process.
I forgot to mention the gauze part in the PM. Just keep biting it for the first day or two (until the bleeding stops). (like tomcat said above)
They gave me Oxycodone and Penicillin. The Oxy just made me feel extremely shitty (even if I ate beforehand) so I decided to flush it down the toilet after day 2. The pain was much more bearable by then anyway. Make sure you take your antibiotic when you're supposed to.
i remember when i got two teeth pulled when i was 11. i was bawling my eyes out but then the hot nurse sat on my lap so it made it all better.

I think they're putting me out with an IV, but I am not too sure..
You pussy. I just had all 4 of mine out 5 days ago. It's fucking nothing to cry about. You swell up for 3 days and then you're fine. I didn't even have to use one of my Oxycodon's. Just Ibuprofin.
The anesthesia is really weird though. You're awake, wondering when something's going to happen, your face tingles, then you close your eyes and wake up with a mouth full of gauze.

yea mine was weird as i had General Anesthesia, you start feeling very light headed and a bit of a feeling like you sinking into the bed. Then all the sudden you fall asleep and 2 seconds later (it feels like 2 seconds but really it could be hours) you wake up with gauze in your mouth and a nice looking nurse to wake up to.
That sound's nice, going under is really the best choice. You don't want to be awake to hear your teeth break in half and feeling your mouth get raped when the anesthetic doesn't work (happened to me before, i hate that dentist who wouldn't believe me) As for me, i got all my wisdom teeth growing since last year.. It was sorta awesome for me, cause i lost one of my molars when i was 13 and they new wisdom tooth took over its place. The other 3 will be a problem, and till then lets hope it doesn't hurt much growing.
dood man u gonna get mad hi
To be honest, it's just one less thing that can go wrong. Your appendix bursting is another example.
But in a more negative light, enjoy the painful, horrific days that follow.
Wisdom tooth removal are more painful than normal tooth removal.
I meant wisdom teeth. I have had sixteen teeth pulled. That is why the Novocaine wore off so fast, I had it so much that it was metabolized way faster than they expected it to.

16 teeth removed? :psypop:
Have you never heard of toothpaste or something?

This describes my experience exactly, except mine was 9 days ago. I think we just got lucky, because all of my friends who had them out had different experiences.

i agree, most people i know are getting put under for it its not really a nice surgery to be awake for.
Don't take the painkillers they give you, they make most people throw up
Eating two whole boxes of boxed mashed potatoes then throwing up is no fun
Funny to see this thread today, I got all four of mine removed last Thursday.
Haven't even experienced any pain.
I go back to the oral surgeon for a follow-up appointment tomorrow, just for him to make sure everything is healing fine.

And also, I'm very glad I was put under. I wouldn't have wanted to be awake for it.

I had no pain except for one tooth he had to do a lot of work on (it was sideways and pushing hard on the tooth next to it), the whole thing was supposed to be 20-30 mins but it took an hour.
and i had T3's witch kept the pain down even though i had very little pain.
i already had my follow up with my surgeon and everything is all good.
Oh my god no, please don't remind me of this kind of stuffs.
I'm frighted of this and kidney stones :C
Last time I got a tooth pulled out the drugs didn't work and I felt the doctor ripping out the tooth out my gums. Oh god the sound.
Be a real man and don't take anything to kill the pain.
I got some shitty adrenaline-based anesthetic (lidocaine?) that made my blood pressure shoot up and made me all anxious. Bleed like a pig, sat there just listening to the sound of grinding and cracking teeth while choking on my blood. :geno:
Fuck'n pansies, just get anesthetics and hear your jaw crunch as they rip those fuckers out.
What a coincidence, I just got 2 of mine pulled out recently. The dentist put me to sleep, so it was done and over with quickly, but damn!
I am still struggling to eat food right now, I have these agitations in my mouth where I just want to poke at them with my tongue.
After the surgery, I am feeling really depressed.
Fucking hated having my teeth out (I had some canines out, I hate fucking needles, so much.) But power to you OP for sticking it through.

It didn't hurt as much as the needle for my toenail removal. I still have a huge scar and half a toenail four months later.

and lemonade :v:
I'm getting all three of my wisdom teeth out next Wednesday. (I'm missing one. Yay genetics?)
Decided to go under, just because I don't like the idea of being semi-conscious as things are being extracted from my jaw. I just hope the holes in my mouth actually heal properly - My girlfriend's took MUCH longer than they should have to heal, leaving her essentially unable to eat solid food for something like six weeks.
I've had 4 wisdom teeth removed also. One of them were growing in sideways and were a pain to remove. At first I was massivly sick, wanting to be shot because of the evergrowing pain. Then, I got a painkiller. I felt fine as ever, if not better.

I also think so.

You should get them to play Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd while you're under. It would be awesome.

Relax, unless it's the PC port of the game, you're fine.
When I was half awake after getting mine pulled I looked at my arm and the saline IV looked all tangled and like super long. Later on (it could have been seconds or hours, I lost all sense of time) I looked at the flourescent light on the ceiling. They are the kind that hang down from two chains and I thought they were spinning around.
After that when I had my wadding changed out they put an assload of clove oil (thats what the doctor suspected afterwards) and it felt like my mouth was on fire. Drinking milk really helps.
Someone else mentioned this, and I will again too: Take your antibiotics! I ended up getting a small infection on one side, and when they flushed it out a bunch of pus drained out, into my mouth, without any warning. D:
The last time I was anesthetized, my piss smelled like medicine for two days.
Never went under, I just took a painkiller for it and I didn't feel a thing. Was a tad sore later because you had to keep your jaw clamped on the cotton but that was about 2 hours after and only lasted half a day.
Don't watch Aliens after taking the anesthetics.
