While partially mentally impaired.
When I got mine pulled, they sent me home with a bottle of oxycodone.
I enjoyed it.
I need to get mine out soon, seeing the Oral Surgeon tomorrow to schedule mine. Mine still don't have roots so they shouldn't be to bad, but part of my lower jaws alignment is off a bit now, nothing major but its a good motivator.

Ah man, I only got Codeine.
One of my friends got medical marijuana for it.

Lucky SOB. Almost as good as having a bag land on your house.
Everyone who gets put under for this operation is a woman! Woman!
Relax. Just be glad you're getting an IV. I got four needles in my mouth and kept hearing the constant grinding of my teeth being broken apart.
Had one tooth growing in sideways, that's how they removed it :geno:
Wasn't entirely pleasant, to say the least.
Being put to sleep is easily one of the more trippy things you will ever experience. You go in, they sit you down, give it to you however they do, you're awake one second then *poof* you wake up without your wisdom teeth. The next few days will hurt a lot. They give you good drugs though. Just toughin up and be ballsie about it.
I stayed awake for the duration of my wisdom teeth pulling. Nine shots of Novocaine, a total of four into my gums, another four into the sides of my mouth, and one right into my tongue. Felt like my entire damn lower jaw was going to be ripped off.
Got sent home with steroids and Vicodin, the only things I remember of the week recovering was waking up with some blood on the pillow, excessive drooling, and a porridge made of rice.
Dear god, I need to stop reading, I'm just becoming more and more scared of my upcoming wisdoom teeth removal :psyduck:
If they put you under, then you're golden. Speaking from the side of the people who didn't, REQUEST THAT YOU BE PUT UNDER WHEN THEY DO THIS PROCEDURE.
I got mine pulled four years ago, I still cringe at the very sight of the dental surgeon who was responsible for the procedure. It doesn't help that my uncle works at the same damn place but wasn't cleared to pull those teeth. :saddowns:
So you go to the fucking hospital? :ohdear:

Having mine taken out some time soon. I'm not TOO worried though... I'll be going under for it.
I'm going to the dentist tommorrow as well.
I'm a massive pussy at the dentists, so I am always put out.
I had my wisdom teeth removed in two separate surgeries. Two were impacted, two were growing in straight. I had one of the impacted ones removed, and the other three a few years later. I was given IV sedation both times. They always used the little butterfly needles on my arms, so it really didn't hurt at all.
The first time, I vaguely remember feeling/hearing them drilling away at the tooth. I don't remember anything from the second time except being led into a room behind the front desk and having one of the those heart monitor things attached to my finger. The first time I was taken from the chair to the car. The second I asked my mom what happened because I thought something had done wrong. She thought that I meant that I didn't know I'd just had my teeth out or something...
I had to go back for a followup a week later, and the dentist took something out of one of the holes (gauze soaked with medicine, I think) and gave me a little plastic irrigation syringe to keep it clean.
I general, just follow their instructions and you have nothing to worry about. In my opinion, the IV sedation is a lot less traumatic/painful than a bunch of shots of Novocaine and having to lie awake while the dismantle your teeth.
I've had this done, it's nothing.
I am eventually going to have to have one, if not 2, of my teeth removed as they are decayed, to let my wisdom teeth grow through.
Either that, or I am going to have to have root canal work on the teeth.
Alrighty, well Pain wise and being put out, i've never been put to sleep before.. so im freaked out by that.
relax! well i cant tell you that.the sleeping gas WILL be one of the worst things you've ever tasted.count to 3s,voices start fading away.count to 6 from 3s,things are getting a little blurry.count 6 to 8,the world is slowly fading away.
Side effects:Constantly falling asleep when resting for too long.Vomiting a green liquid that hurts your esophagus.Unable to enjoy food due to the taste.I would rather get a shot.
I think I lost weight when I got mine pulled because every time I ate my mouth started bleeding. It really sucked.
bring a music player
You should get them to play Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd while you're under. It would be awesome.
First thing I did was listen through Echoes. It was incredibly intense. It was really funny, the nurse was making sure I was alright by asking me what the capital of Washington state was and I answered Ann Arbor. Then she asked me what state Ann Arbor was and I said Washington DC.
That was about it though. My tolerance to that shit was incredibly high and it took about a minute before I was thinking almost completely clearly. And I was still pretty aware beforehand too, just not able to answer questions.
Good luck bro.
I had eight teeth extracted a few years ago, and it sucked. The IV hurts when done wrong, which mine was. But I had one recently (February) and it didn't hurt at all. Your jaw will want to kill you afterward, because your teeth will be moving. Take an ibuprofen and watch an episode of the Three Stooges, you'll feel better in no time.
I heard a Wagner Opera or Thick as a Brick by Jethro Tull while they removed my wisdom teeth. Was good fun.
I'm sorry but, who cares? Did I make a thread when i got my 4 wisdom teeth removed? No...
