Back in Cadets we had to do a 1 mile run with full NBC suits on, including the mask. My god, never again.
1 mile? :| I did 3 miles in NBC suit with gas mask included on a cadence run, was horrible if any of your guys suck at them especially have bad endurance, not fun at all, not only that it was done on summer day, it was like 9453498573459 degrees in the suits, we literally had our boots filled with our sweat, not cool.
MCUs look front heavy I can never seem to bring myself to buy one because lighter gasmasks are generally more comfortable
the advantage 1000 (one im trying to get) is supposed to be light as fuc
got my C-3 canandian gas mask from black6tactical there light weight and comfortable
Sorry to bump, but i found this thread quite useful. Although is there a updated list of ballistic rated gasmasks?
I think it's still pretty much up to date, there's not exactly any new gas masks that aren't on that list around and the availability of ballistic lenses and stuff is still likely the same.
Anyone have any experience with M50's?
My friend has in boot camp he hates how there's filters on both sides
Updated the OP with a list of known filters to contain asbestos happy hunting!
I have 3x these
As it was mentioned on propably every single page in this thread - do NOT attempt to use this for airsofting. [editline]asdas[/editline]
Suspected masks with filters that contain asbestos: Polish MUA SzM41M
...fuck, I've got this.
...fuck, I've got this.
Get a modern filter and problem solved!!!
i cant be bothered to find the filter right now, but what is this?
Israeli civvie gas mask
Here's mine: No fog, and I removed all the diaphragms so it's possible to breathe in it. I'm not using the filter because it contains asbestos as mentiond earlier in the thread.
Yeah the coffee can filter can cause some serious health problems so it's best not risking that. However, if you were really really really deadset on wearing a filter to a gp4 gas mask for some reason (if there is a logical reason, someone tell me why), any 40mm filter will do. Also for some reason, the cheap common Gp5 was the first gasmask I ever had in which I never had to use antifog.
ABout the asbestos in polish masks: Early they have big filter in bag. In late 80's we got short can filters from MC-1 with cellulose instead. BTW: my friend MC-1

Yeah hence (to me anyway) no logical reason of using a filter with a gp4

I was looking for this thread. I have some goggles and when I am not using them, I have them sit on my forehead. If I keep them there too long they leave two funny looking red rings on my forehead. I tried adjusting the straps on the sides but the thing is, they loosen themselves over time and eventually unfold, causing me to fix them back up only to be too tight and leave red marks again.
what does that have to do with gas masks?
I really need an M2000 for my loadout, I'm trying to get a full German loadout. They're pretty hard to get in the UK.
Never seen those before, I'm not a fan of masks with filters in the centre like that but i'm surprisingly ok with those. Also on the subject of gas masks, i still REALLY fucking want an XM-40 after playing stalker so much, but i know i will never find one, and if i did then it'd be too valuable to use for airsoft.
I see them for sale sometimes in the group i'm in for facebook Expect to shell out $500+ though
Which group is that? I thought they'd be too rare to come across for sale easily.
Gas Mask Collectors Club + their sales group Some of the more hardcore collectors sometimes 'downsize' their collection if they need to get rid of their shit or they want to trade their stuff for something equally as rare. Last time the dude was offering his XM40 which he bought for $250 years back and he was looking OBO. I offered $300 but he didn't bite lol
There's some real neat stuff on there. Do you have a link to the sales page? I likely won't be able to buy anything for a while, but it's still good to know where to look when i have the cash.
