no but see the zombies are magic and blah blah blahg
Wait a minute, There is only like three big cities in Missouri, other than that there are plains and hills(Parts of Missouri shouldn't be a mega swarm)... I mean I live near the town, but probably 30 miles from the closest and 3rd biggest city in the state itself, (I live outside of Springfield) 100s of miles from Jefferson or KC. On the bad side, I live in the suburbia, neighborhoods are not good for zombie apocalypses.
Though I got a few good blunt weapons and sharp weapons, I have a machete, pick axe, shovel, aluminum bat, and some thick and light steel pipe(It does not bend or dent easy).
Any recommendations and opinions on whether or not I can escape alive.

Well Its always good to be prepared for something, even if there is a chance it wont happen.
Why don't you read the book before you pass judgement.
if zombies die when the brain is destroyed how can they survive decomposition and freezing they cant thats how
if zombies die when the brain is destroyed how can they survive decomposition and freezing they cant thats how
They already cant survive freezing, and a zombie virus would affect the living and a greater chance to affect the recently dead, that have not been dead and decomposing for too long.
I don't know if you were talking to me Uberman, were you?
if zombies die when the brain is destroyed how can they survive decomposition and freezing they cant thats how
Derp herp it's a fictional book and if you read it you'd know that Solanum makes the brain a self-sufficient organ somehow, and that they don't survive decomposition they decompose after around 3-5 years. But that the Solanum virus repels most bacteria leading to a slower rate of decomposition. They survive freezing because the liquids in their bodies don't expand and contract due to being mostly solid or gone.
TL;DR:
3 Points:
1. It's a book. A FICTIONAL book. Everyone here understands that. It's a "what if" concept.
2. Read The Zombie Survival Guide for an explanation of most of these things.
3. Deal w/it
[editline]09:20PM[/editline]
Also Solanum does not affect recently dead organisms. It only does anything to a living host.

No, it was general.
Okay, just still confused, you guys know the book, I don't. >.>
Ah I see, I have not read the book.
But I was just trying to go off of common sense. I mean when something freezes, the cells along with the viruses will die, as for a virus infecting the recently dead, it makes sense because nothing is too decomposed for the virus to not have control of.

This man is correct.
I'm gonna dust off my copy and read it again, it should be worth it.

You know, that's what I did. I saw my copy of both books on my shelf and I put them in my messenger bag and took them to school to read. I came home and this thread was posted. Both my copies of TZSG and WWZ are sitting next to me.

Naw, Solanum is basically a parasite on crack.
It forces away everything living (even bacteria) and turns the infected's brain into a self-sufficient organ. It does not need oxygen, food, water etc...
I was assuming a virus had partaken.
Edit
(Checked out the map again)So uh, small islands are bad ideas? >.<
REDIT
I see. I need to go out and get 'dem books!

May as well read TZSG again.
Yay.
So uh, small islands are bad ideas? >.<
No, in the Zombie Survival Guide, it says small fortified islands are the best places to be, but are completely impractical. Unless you are very rich, you can't get one.
Yeah. Thankfully it actually doesn't take that long to read.
Also, no Izan. Small islands are actually good ideas. However, if you were to set up shop on a small island you would need to be prepared to defend against raiders and just jealous people who think that they deserve the island more than you and will try to take it away from you. Mainly, the thing with islands is that since the Solanum powered brain does not need oxygen, they can travel underwater indefinitely (or until they rot away) so you would need to watch the beaches in case one just happened to wander up on your shores.
Just PM me if you have any questions about the book. I'd be more than happy to answer them.

Fucking uberman ninja'ing my posts.

Or any questions related to Solanum zombie survival at all.
Solanum makes the brain a self-sufficient organ somehow
well obviously it uses pixie magic
well obviously it uses pixie magic
Yes. Every non-understood disease/parasite anything uses mystical magic. Just leave. I can't even take you seriously with that avatar.
Nah, I don't have any questions right now. I just need to find a way to read the books.
Where do you live?
Barnes & Noble carries them, so do most stores.
I remember there was a poster in my school's library for WWZ, but I never thought to check up on it. I might go and see if they have both books once school starts again (mid term break right now, go back next week).
And will you buy it?
Ye
so if the zombies dont need food water or oxygen what keeps them going?
so if the zombies dont need food water or oxygen what keeps them going?
What does it matter? It's a book for christ's sake. Not a fucking government situation report. Get over it. Go read something else if it matters to you so much.
And to answer your question: I don't know, and I'm sure no one else does.
I may as well die because as we all know it, New York is fucked in the ass.

lets jump on him because he asked a completely logical question about a statement that really doesn't make much sense at all
Going to Peru :D
where the fuck is hawaii
From now on, I am Alberta Ben. And I am in the infected zone. :smug:
<--- Fitting avatar.
I don't know why wales isn't a safe zone, unless there's zombie sheep.
The only reason I probably won't read it is because it'd depress me :D it's an awesome concept, but the idea behind the Redker plan means that I imagine I'd be chucked out into an infected zone and get eaten along with my family! I'd feel too sorry for the people in the infested zones :D
Well, I have my current home in an infected zone, but, our house is Vegas is yellow, so I'll be good.
Just need to get a plane.
